Could be, but I think Marshall is best friends with both of them but it’s just different friendships. Ted and Marshall have a more deeper connection and are companions for life, but Marshall and Barney are more like bros (best bro’s let me add) and can be childish and crazy together. Ted is more sophisticated and laid-back so the friendship will be different with him. But I totally see why you’d think that
