The friends of characters have very limited visibility. I've only ever seen face characters without attendants and that's because they can see.

It has to be a two-piece. Otherwise, the large hole required to fit a normal human head in it would ruin the illusion, as the Elastigirl head is much smaller than, say, Mickey's head.
