@xpynuker Yes it sounds strange but there were spectators in the stadium, not too many though as the match took place on a Wednesday , all spectators were gathering at the other side of the stadium not far from the TV commentator place.

@TheRealSnackMix It is also called "balompié" as "balón" + "pie", meaning foot+ball, but "fútbol" is a "phonetical" adaptation of "football", hence, any of the Spanish names are totally equivalent to football, and are origined in that word. "Soccer", instead, according to what I read in another post comes from "assoc(iation)". The point is that you cannot justify the existence of the word soccer by the fact that in Spanish football is spelled football or literally translated "balompié".

@malaysiancule Well it doesn't have to necessarily stop, it just needs to either go out of play or stop ALL forward motion, i.e. be dead still or going away from the goal, so that there is no possible way of the ball making its own way into the goal.

What I know is, that at the end of a game, if the referee claims the game ended, and only a penalty has to be executed, the rules state, that the execution is over, when the ball is in the goal, behind the goalline or it can't go into the goal without "outside interference". It counts as a goal if it was saved, but goes into the net from the keeper or (e.g. spin) by toching the ground. Nothing with stopped forward motion. Not the same in a shootout?

@Aqselssonii ...........obviously he should be able to make another attempt at it, its logical, but the rules weren't made for crazy stuff like this to happen. According to the rules, it's up to the referee to say when the penalty has finished AND that they should say it has finished once the ball has no more kinetic energy, so it's logically and technically a goal

lets go over a point here. Foot - Ball, you use your foot, and you kick a round ball during the majority of the match. American *Football* : you use your hands and run with something that looks like Stewie Griffin's Head. perhaps a rename of the american sport would be appreciated. my opinion of a name for it would be *Hand-Oval
