I felt indifferent about season 9, didn't hate or love it. I was just disappointed that they decided to use What made J.D unique to the show and pawned it off on the new girl. And half of it was lame.

It's pretty good if you think of it as a spin-off, which it was supposed to be. It's no Season 9, Executive Meddling stupidly did that.

I will admit, Scrub the college years was not as bad as everybody said. The problem was it aired the season after Scrubs the original show ended. If there was some breathing room between the two show, that would have been better.

I might be in the minority here. While Season 9 isn't nearly as good as the other 8 seasons I would be lying if seeing the characters we grew to love over 8 years didn't bring a smile to my face. I do think it doesn't always hit but I don't despise it like most people. I think it's enjoyable in it's own right and it still makes me smile. I guess I just really love this show so much the dip on quality doesn't bother me that much.

Honestly, if it was stand alone and had come out like 3, 4 years later it would have caught on. Nice idea, fine jokes and actually very cool characters. Drew is super charming, jo is great as always, Lucy is whatever but Cole is my favorite, annoying as all hell but the show is aware and makes him progress in smart ways

Controversial opinion: J.D. ruined season 9. Don't get me wrong, he had some funny bits, but the show sacrificed a lot of character development time for the new cast in order to give J.D. more presence. Having J.D. there also kind of kneecapped Lucy in terms of who she could be as a character. If you still have your old goofy dreamer, what can you do with your new goofy dreamer? Once J.D. leaves the show, the newbies finally start getting some traction, and by the end of the season they're actually fun to watch. Turk and Cox's relationship, which is one of the few fertile places to plow after the original 8 seasons, also has some more time to breathe once J.D. is gone. But they needed to be at that place mid-season, and they couldn't. I say J.D. should have been there for the first three episodes, tops, maybe even squeeze him into only the premiere, with a cameo or two in dream sequences like some of the rest of the old cast got. I'm pretty sure the network demanded more J.D., so I'm not blaming production. But that's what needed to happen.

And the only original characters that came out of it well were Denise and Cox, the rest felt like parodies of their own characters, especially JD.
