It looks like you have all the evidence you need but I can state that my experience with members of the Church, is in total contrast to the people you describe. I challenge you to visit a church service, anywhere of your choice, with an open mind and heart and just observe. Then ponder if you can understand how I came to my opinion. Maybe then you will challenge the opinion you currently hold.

@Mike I love reading your posts!!! It does make me smile. :) I keep forgetting that Joe stole stuff from Masonry. I don't think the Masons were happy with that choice and perhaps another reason why he was killed. We know from older temple "penalties" that you would have to kill yourself if you revealed the secrets. I can only imagine how much more imperative that was in the 1800's that if someone didn't kill themselves, they would be punished for their crime. This copycat of the mason rites I'm sure didn't go over well with those that had been Freemasons from generations passed down.

Seems like it hasn't been a waste at all about only from your perspective which is limited in scope and understanding. That's just us. Millions of people do the same thing and we can see the fruits of the Holy Spirit guide our lost brothers and sisters out of the bonds of LDS and toward a Christian faith that will produce fruits of their own. @Mike but he will be in complete torture and agony and misery and dispair for all eternity, never ending, constant pain and sadness and regret because he was NOT a Christian. None of the Mormons are a Christian. Mormon beliefs, teachings and doctrine PROVE that Mormonism is NOT a Christian religion. The LDS church is vastly at odds with Christianity: it is ANTI-Christian in fact! Do the research. Here are some of the erroneous, dangerous MORMON teachings, which are in deep and obvious conflict with Christianity: -- Mormons are not Christians because they believe Jesus lied in Matthew 16:18 and Joseph needed to restore "a" church but Christians trust Jesus built HIS CHURCH that would never be destroyed by anything. Don't we read in 1 Peter 1:25 the Word of the Lord, the very gospel that was preached, will *endure forever* which means the Bible is either lying or Joe is lying, which is it -- it can't be both at the same time. -- Mormons are not Christians because they don't trust the Bible 100%, but Christians do. It is the Word of GOD who would not lie to us. -- Mormons are not Christians because they believe they can be a god, but Christians believe Isaiah 43:10, 44:6-8, 45:5,6 and there is only ONE GOD, not many. -- Mormons are not Christians because they think Jesus was created, Christians believe Jesus is eternal from everlasting to everlasting and created everything (John 1:3, Colossians 1:16) -- Mormons are not Christians because they think Heavenly Father was a created being born of another god and worshiping a created being is called idolatry. _"Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever."_ (Romans 1:25) -- Mormons are not Christians because they believe in works for salvation, Christians know we are saved by grace ONLY through our faith (Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5, Romans 11:6) -- Mormons are not Christians because they keep secrets (handshakes, etc), Christians know that everything is revealed (Luke 12:2) -- Mormons are not Christians because they have a different Jesus even stated by Gordon B. Hinckley, the 15th president of the LDS church, who says that Jesus of Mormonism and traditional Christianity are not the same. -- Mormons are not Christians because if that were so, why do Mormons try to convert Christians to be a Mormon? _“The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has many beliefs in common with other Christian churches. But we have differences, and those differences explain why we send missionaries to other Christians….”_ -- *Dallin H. Oaks,* “Apostasy and Restoration,” Ensign, May 1995. -- Mormons are not Christians because they don't believe the Trinity (1 John 5:7) despite the fact the Book of Mormon supports it: -- 2 Nephi 31:21 -- Alma 11:44 -- D&C 20:28 -- Mormons are not Christians because they believe some nonsense about "pre-existence" which goes against the Bible in 1 Corinthians 15:46. We easily read the part where it says "spiritual is not first" meaning no pre-beginning. We have a NATURAL beginning here on earth and THEN we return to the SPIRITUAL. -- Mormons are not Christians because they don't believe JESUS IS GOD despite the powerful evidence in the Bible (1 Timothy 3:16, Isaiah 9:6) and if you deny Jesus is GOD then you will die in your sins (John 8:24)

@@sevrinvorndran351 You are correct. Jesus did away with pomp and ritual. He came to "fulfill the law." Israeli religion had devolved into ritualistic self serving ceremonialism, which changed the truth God revealed in the law into process theology. Christ the Messiah restored and completed God's work, teaching us that humanity itself is the temple; God does not dwell in a building or anything made by human hands, nor is the will of God carried out by human acts that are merely symbolic. Love thy neighbor as thyself and walk humbly with God in sincerity. All else is vanity.

George Bauerschmidt, too bad Rosa is wrong. Revelations 7:15 speaks of the future in which people will be serving God in his temple day and night. You don’t have a temple neither do you believe in them, so obviously you are in the wrong church that teaches another gospel.
@sevrinvorndran351
@sevrinvorndran351 5 жыл бұрын
@@theephraimite Rosa is not only right, but follows the Bible. Mormons insist that Joe "restored" it a gospel that was lost. The Mormons claim a complete apostasy took place on earth. Let's see if the Bible agrees with that... Please read 1 Peter 1:25 and observe the gospel that was preached will "endure forever". Looks like Joe didn't read the entire Bible before making up a lie. If something can "endure forever" then it should never need to be "restored" otherwise it didn't "endure forever" making the Bible a false book. Either the Bible is right or Joe is right. But not at the same time otherwise we seek cognitive dissonance to accept "restored" and "endure forever" as synonymous which is nonsense. Revelation is in the future, it does not apply to 2019 or any time prior. If Jesus should return after 2019, then the verse will apply, but not now.

@@alyssahansen1400 on behalf of over a BILLION Christians around the globe, I share the same response they ALL would provide and give evidence. Yes, I can prove it just using one verse, but there are about 3 all together. I don't use science, I use the Bible. I use the Word of GOD which is always viewed as an inferrrior book by cult led Mormons. 1 Peter 1:25 reveals the Truth about the biblical gospel: _"But the word of the Lord _*_endures for ever._*_ And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you."_ Here we have a verse from the Bible telling us that the gospel that was preached to us (gentiles) will *endure forever.* Just how long does anything in this world *endure forever*? Wouldn't that be eternity? My question is this ... if Joseph Smith had the task to "restore this gospel" from an angel but the Bible tells us that the gospel will *"endure forever",* are we to believe Joseph Smith actually restored something that would last for eternity or do you we believe the Bible which says it will *endure forever.* ?? Obviously, only one of them can be correct ... an object can't both endure forever and also need restoration. It's one or the other, not both. One of the two is lying. Can anyone help me figure out this discrepancy or can we conclude that Joseph Smith was a false prophet who just made up a really bad story that many believed because they didn't know their Bible that well.

He didn't plan on that fizzling out so quickly because it was not from God. Mormons praise this man, they praise Joe. Waiting for any one Mormon to praise Jesus for all the grace He freely gives. @@stephtimms1776 Abraham nor Moses or Elijah will save my soul, none will provide me free grace, none of them died for my sins, none of them deserve praise or worship, none of them are without sin and none of them will be there on my day of judgment before the Lord Jesus Christ. And none of them have the ability to hear my prayers or to be with us when 2 or more are gathered in their name. None of them have a place near the Father in heaven and none of them will return on a great White Horse and destroy the enemies of the earth. If you suggest that we must be grateful to any man of the past just because he followed as a servant of God, then we would be much like the Catholics that regard so many different saints. To hold any man in regard is idol worship and a form of demonology. I am not going to thank David for slaying Goliath nor will I thank John the Baptist for baptizing Jesus. We might as well thank Lucifer for causing Adam and Eve to eat of the forbidden fruit or Judas for betraying Jesus so that He might die on the cross. Perhaps we should thank all the apostles for being supportive of Jesus and helping Him on the journey. Catholics spend a lot of time giving honor to Mary, the mother. This is just idol worship. When we are in heaven, the names of all these people will not be on our lips or tongues as the Bible tells us that every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that JESUS CHRIST is LORD. At no time will we utter the names of historic figures or their deeds or gifts that were given by God for His glory. For HIS glory. When we are no longer humble so that we look for our own glory, then we will no longer be a child of Christ but to the enemy that seeks to find pride in his own works.

@@sevrinvorndran351 Luke 16:22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. 27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: 28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. 29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. 30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. 31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

And you are not even following your own ridiculous teachings since no one goes to hell in LDS teachings, so you have adopted your own personal religion but not that of LDS. I know this false cult more than you apparently. This horrible man will suffer all eternity in pain, anguish and misery the same way all mormons are miserable today for being in a fake religion. It's the fastest growing church on the face of the planet as of 2018 with a membership of 16,313, 735 with 161 temples, Christ himself was persecuted for teaching false doctrine and was ridiculed for daring to say he was the Son of God he was crucified for that very reason and had you lived during his reign you would have condemned him and sentenced him to death too! Go and preach the gospel to all the none believers in this world they need you more than I do, thanks for your concern may God bless your unbelieving soul all the same.

@@joyfuljoyful6598 Hitler was an AWFUL man and Monson is on the same level as he has swindled tons of money from people like yourself into believing a lie and did so on purpose for his benefit. He knows the Book of Mormon is false and LDS has changed so many times over the past 100 years that a full Mormon 120 years ago wouldn't even recognize anything today. We don't need to "belong" to a denomination to belong to Christ. We belong to Him in our heart by our FAITH ALONE when we ask Him into our heart which is the SPIRITUAL CHURCH that He created for us, not a physical church, not a building not a membership. I belong to the church of Jesus Christ of His _spiritual_ church because Christ does not dwell in man-made buildings (Acts 17:24) He dwells in my heart. But Mormons are confused because different books teach different concepts. If we ask Mormons today this question: _Does God dwell in our heart?_ *YES:* Alma 34:36 *NO:* D&C 130:3 It's confusing when each is different. But there are MANY verses in the Bible that tell me that Christ does dwell in our heart. If the Bible is correct, and the BoM is "supposedly" correct, then the D&C book is wrong and the quotes from leaders is wrong also. You are either FOR JESUS or some false idol named Joseph Smith who was an adulterer, polyandry abuser, child molester, convicted criminal and sorcerer who looked at stones in a hat as a lie for finding lost treasures in the exact same way as writing a fictional book while claiming it was from GOD.

@Mike We can look at the problems of LDS and the changes that GOD would never rescind for any reason: 1) polygamy stopped suddenly in 1890 2) racism ended in 1978 3) the consequences of the 'blood oath' penalty was removed in 1990 4) Men are no longer intermediaries between women and God in the temple in 2019 Let's look at the old false teachings that were once considered solid "true" beliefs but are ignored now: 1) Adam is the God over this earth, under the supervision of yet a higher god, and the father of Jesus 2) Polygamy is required for exaltation 3) Blacks are cursed 4) Heavenly Father and Mary had intercourse to create Jesus on earth 5) Blood atonement for crimes 6) No heavenly reward without consent and "the certificate of Joseph Smith"

@@goingtothetop55 Claiming to know something you don't know is called lying. Telling a young child who doesn't know anything that this is true and they have to believe it or else is wrong. I bet if I went to any fast and testimony meeting I would see young children getting up to the podium saying that they know something is true that they obviously don't know. This is what I'm talking about when I say dishonesty and lies. As soon as any religious person not just mormons can show what they're saying is true or even just a glimpse of truth that would be a step in the right direction.
@goingtothetop55

@@3DFLYLOW I appreciate your honesty regarding your frustrations and how they are found in all religions. However, I disagree with your premise. Children are innocent and gullible by nature, and therefore they believe most anything they hear and are taught. This includes countless aspects of life, most of which are outside of religion. The reason I reject your premise is because there are many things in life, which are true, that cannot be "proven" with 100% definitive evidence. Also, part of growing from childhood, to adolescence, and then into adulthood, is to form our own identity outside of our parents and family, and form our own beliefs and views of the World and all that it entails. As a parent, if you truly believe in certain principles and beliefs(religious or non-religious), and teach those principles to your children, I would hardly call that blatantly telling lies. Great discussion, I appreciate it mate.

@@goingtothetop55 You make a couple interesting points so I will read this again later and think about it. I'll leave you with this question. Is it right to tell a child to say that they know something is true when you know they don't know?
@goingtothetop55
@goingtothetop55 5 жыл бұрын
@@3DFLYLOW I would say no, it's not right, and you have a great point. Regarding religous beliefs, parents should teach their kids what they believe, but it's critical to encourage kids to ask questions as they get older, and ultimately find out for themselves if it's true or not, and if it's something they want to believe/follow or not. Parents should support their kids regardless of whether they decide to follow their path or not. Individuality and personal agency/choices is essential for kids as they transition into adulthood. Many parents fail in these regards.
