I saw your community message the other day and while I appreciate you listening to your audience, I really don't mind your negative reviews. It's why I now watch your channel more than others. As a movie buff, I find too many movies today to be mediocre or less. thanks.

I ageee! I mean a lot of movies just aren’t made like they were used to be!! I don’t mind the negative reviews either, they’re funny as hell. & they’re never even bashing the movies, they’re just honest about when they’re shitty 😂😂

Love your review. This film made me think of "Crumb". My older male cousins collected comics and they's hide the Crumb stuff when I came around. Years later I figured out who he was . A very troubled man from a tragic, dark family history.

both uncomfortable and funny.. Robert was at peace whenever he's indulged in his art. It bothered me to see the unrest between him and his parents. They want the best for him in their own ways, but Robert's sense of growth is in a different axis. Miles was the gentler soul, being there for his friend even while his warmth is not reciprocated. Wallace is a firecracker who might have his issues but definitely not a fool. I was searching for his genius in the art as much as Robert wanted to believe. But, at least, Wallace throws some truth bombs which were just lost in the tarade of noice he creates for himself. Loved the movie!

I recently saw it and found it jarringly brilliant. It's a coming-of-age film that breaks the rules of coming-of-age films. Love the cast, especially the brilliance of Josh Pais. Ron Rifkin is a treat as Robert's grandfather, and it's nice to see Louise Lasser (Woody Allen's ex) in a movie.

A treat? Ron Rifkin was in one very short scene! Agreed that its a good one though

Look, I had my notification to watch this live. But i wanted to be in the comfort of my own home, lighting up and sipping a nice mezcal. You two absolutely KILLED IT on this review. I couldn't either stop grinning or laughing throughout. And yes, I too, took on hell in lieu of staying with my overbearing narcissist of a father. This one hit home a little bit. I really can't think of another movie review channel that has me excited every single time, regardless of the movie.

I feel like the Moral of the story in this film is to not rush towards your goal or dream. If you don’t have a necessity to leave your parents home then don’t leave it and if you want to get a career then you probably should go to college and at least get a bachelors in your field. I feel like the best way to describe this film or anything that the Safdie brothers are involved in is “Downward Spiral” the character constantly makes bad choices thinking it’ll get them somewhere but in the end they end up lost

This sounds like that the kind of film where "low budget" is not a disparaging term and the "mise en scene" allows the story to flourish in a way that the CGI in a summer blockbuster never will. I've heard it said many times that not having a huge budget can be an advantage because it's causes you to problem solve and to be creative.
