I don't know why, but I find Funny's character really interesting. You guys seem to hate her even though she's like Poppe. She's like Poppe but a little less violent. She's supposed to be mean and that's why I like her.

that's also what i used to think!! but recently i've started looking at funny as papi, crescent as popee and corona as kedamono. it makes sense when u consider how papi constantly invalidates popee's achievements, causing him to get jealous and in turn, cause chaos. corona, much like kedamono, is gentle and always gets caught in the crossfire.

Yeah, her and popee are very similar, but she straight up abuses crescent emotionally. Popee will do the same thing to kedamono, but at least he actually gets karma in a way. Funny just seems to be that one character who never even gets punishment. That’s what makes her boring in my opinion, and an unsatisfying character for me. Even though popee never learns, at least he seems to feel less lonely when he’s around kedamono, and doesn’t actually hate him but funny is pretty annoying when she just randomly ignores crescent whenever he wants to impress her, and popee doesn’t seem the type to ignore anyone, even though he does straight up abuse other characters. That’s the difference I found. But funny just seems kind of annoying to me, just because of nothing really happens to her so far, she’s just there. She kind of sits there the whole time and sometimes I wonder why she’s even the main character.

@@ihateyt1880 Hit the nail on the head. I'm basically repeating what you said, but I want to throw in my two cents. Popee is often the butt of the joke and gets punished for his actions. He's an asshole, but it's fine because the story doesn't portray him as a saint. Papi helped alleviate the dynamic between Kedamono and Popee by setting Popee in his place when he gets way out of control. Funny is negligent and gets away with it. It's frustrating because her actions often lead to (undeservedly) poor situations with Crescent and Corona. She doesn't get reprimanded or punished. We also follow Crescent's POV through most of Funny Pets and since she's the source of most of his troubles, it sucks watching her get away with it.

That’s basically what I’m trying to say, though I’m not mad if anyone likes her as a character, cause I don’t want anyone to think that I’m trying to shame this person for liking her as a character, I’m just pointing out that funny isn’t really the same as popee. She gets treated like a queen most of the episodes. And sadly most of the characters in the show seem to follow her lead when she’s on screen, potentially ignoring crescent and neglecting him.

@@ihateyt1880 I think that's exactly why even though both Popee and her are cruel, Popee is way more likeable than she is. We often see how Popee's antics backfire on him, and their dynamic isn't always the same because in some episodes Popee ends up being the victim of Kedamono's well-intentioned actions, like when Popee was stuck and it was raining so Kedamono put an umbrella over him but it caused a lighting to strike Popee, or when Kedamono tried to pull the sword out of him and ended up dragging him across the whole circus with a truck. Funny is an asshole too but unlike Popee, she always gets away with it, we never see her being the butt of the joke or see some more variations in her dynamic, and instead Crescent is the one who often has his antics backfire on him, but unlike Popee who gets karma for being an asshole, Crescent is just trying to get some attention from Funny.
