What is the problem with a curved spider stick? I would use a snake shaped one - and make my shot because the success depends only on the skills of the player and the shape of the queue stick!

Karsten Link swan neck spiders act as a rest on top of the normal spider so straightness of the shaft is important. Edit: so it makes the shots over a ball that you can’t reach possible.
