This is what I love about snooker, the excellent sportsmanship of the players. Higgins calling a foul on himself then actually asking to look at the recordings rather than just going along with the decision to not call a foul. That's so cool 😎

Is it just me, or does the segment with Matthew Stevens and John Higgins at 12:14 remind anyone else of the 2017 World Championship, when John Higgins played Mark Selby, and Higgins tried to clip a red, only to go into the middle pocket off the brown three times before hitting the red on the fourth attempt?

Well, it is supposed to be an event showcasing the "exciting side" of snooker, and it isn't one of the major tourneys anyways (smallish prize money). The only thing I don't get is its ranking tournament status.
@DanTheTanned4 жыл бұрын
@@z01t4n I think the ranking serves as the attraction part for players. Like u said the prize money is small so if there isn't any ranking points I don't think players are keen to play in it
@z01t4n4 жыл бұрын
@@DanTheTanned Well, perhaps not all players would, although there are no ranking points for the Snooker World Cup or the 6 Red World Champs either, and you still see good players (e.g. Higgins, Maguire, Williams) playing in those. My point is that the Shoot-Out is played under non-standard (variant) rules, so it is kind of odd to let it distort the rankings. (E.g. this year's Shoot-Out was one of the reasons Ronnie could not attempt a title defence at the Players Championship for the top 16 of the 1-year list. Michael Holt took his place by winning the Shoot-Out, although a Ronnie-Trump clash could've been more interesting than a rather one-sided Holt-Trump match.)
