Making EVERY Mario Power-Up A Spirit Battle for Super Smash Bros Ultimate

Super Smash bros ultimate represents its several different franchises in a number of different ways, though one of the biggest is through the spirits. In general the smash ultimate spirits are used to represent characters, however sometimes they are actually for objects, and this is most prominently seen with the power-ups from the super mario series. With so many different Mario games like super mario bros 3, super mario world, super mario 64, super mario galaxy, super mario galaxy 2, new super mario bros, super mario 3D world, super mario maker, and super mario maker 2, many power-ups were not able to make it on to the spirit roster. So today I’m going to be creating spirits for every mario power-up for super smash bros ultimate!

6:36 Actually, I would say the different nozzles for F.L.U.D.D. should count, so here are my ideas: Hover nozzle (advanced): Mario with a jetpack who prefers using aerial attacks to reference how you can use the hover nozzle to attack enemies from above. The floor would also be sticky to reference the paint Mario has to clean throughout the game. This would be on Delfino Plaza and the music would be Ricco Harbor. Turbo nozzle (novice): Mario moves at uncontrollable speed and likes using his down special. This would take place on Delfino Plaza and the music would be Delfino Plaza (Original). Rocket nozzle (advanced): 3 Greninjas with stronger up specials. The enemy will be able to jump really high every few seconds. The fight would take place on the Wuhu Island volcano to reference the final boss of Sunshine. The music is Delfino Plaza (Remix)

And Yoshi’s down special can work very well as a reference to the stomp. 4:01 You could’ve chosen a level with a big tree or the Nintendog’s stage. 4:20 If Sonic had a yellow alt, I would’ve used it instead of Yoshi as reference to Ray the Flying Squirrel in Sonic Mania. With the Amiibo mushroom spirit, perhaps using an amiibo based on a smash character would pick that character for the game/their stage/music track (E.G. Mario/Rainbow Cruise/Delfino Plaza). It'd be cool for Amiibo connectivity, but there'd still be a hint of randomization on what the amiibo will lead to in the match.

If you didn't already know, the class of any given spirit, (novice, advanced, ace, legendary) is determined by the power/stats of the spirit when equipped and the power level of the character, or in this case item, doesn't affect class. For example, support spirits with the autoheal ability are always ace rank. The difficulty of the spirit battle is determined by the spirit's rank. For example, all spirits with the auto heal ability are ace rank. The difficulty of the spirit battle is directly determined by the spirit class. While it's understandable for Odyssey to use the canonical strength of a spirit to determine its class in these videos, Odyssey has pointed out in a inconsistancy video that the spirit classes for some spirits don't match the canonical strength of the character when that isn't how class is determined in Smash. Also would any of you want Odyssey to make a video creating new spirit effects/abilities to better represent a series?

Alright here is yes stuff Final Cursa: A Giant Mii Brawler with Rabbid Suit that deals a ludicrous amounts of damage is your target and there is also a Cringe with smol HP. You have to make sure the Cringe and you don't die or else game over. After a while Nightmare Assist Trophies will spawn. Also a LOT of stooges can spawn. Like a LOT of them. Legendary Spirit Giant Magnafowl: Same as Giant Wildclaw but Black DK if it exists. Ace Spirit Giant Goomba: Same as Goomba Spirit but big and deals a FAT amount of dmg. Ace Spirit Giant Depleter & Regular Depleter: Grouped them up cuz similar. In the fight your HP will be drained. You have to defeat a Mii Brawler that keeps their distance to win. Giant Depleter's Mii Brawler is Bigger and deals more dmg. Advanced and Ace Spirit (Here are my spirits from my other Comments) Cursa: You have to beat the Megabug. After that beat the Spark Hunters and after that beat a Giant Cringe. Legendary Spirit Giant Wildclaw: Wildclaw but Bigger & Stronger. Ace Spirit Wildclaw: Stronger and Bigger version of Orange DK. Advanced Spirit Stooge: Mii Gunner with Rabbid Suit. Novice Spirit Flamin' Stooge: Same as Stooge but floor is Lava. Novice or Advanced Spirit Spark Hunters (Edge, Bedrock, Midnite and Daphne): All of them are Mii Brawlers that have the Rabbid Suit. Bedrock has Metal and moves slower, Midnite moves faster, jumps higher, falls slower and goes invisible randomly, Daphne spawns as Wario who spams da Bike before becoming a Mii Brawler with Deku Nut (also during Cursa Fight Daphne will not transform into Wario) and Edge has the killing edge, Moves faster and is stronger. They are all Ace Spirits

Ace Spirit Mega Dragon Bowser: The same start with Cursa with the Giant Banjo & Kazooie however once defeated it will spawn a big bowser with a jetpack. Legendary Spirit Mecha Jr: a Big Bowser Jr that uses da move that spawns Mechakoopas more often. Ace Spirit Pirabbid Plant: Spawns with a Spawny (You will see the spawny thing when you look lower) then once Spawny is defeated a Piranha Plant and a Mii Brawler that has the Rabbid Suit and Deku Nut spawns. Ace Spirit Spawny: A Small Rob or Small Mii Brawler with Rabbid Suit. Also Spawny stays their distance. Advanced Spirit Darkmess Eyeballs: There will be 5 Black Kirby's with 1 HP that run away. You have a timer to defeat the Black Kirby's. After a while Stooges will spawn. Defeat all Black Kirby's to win. Advanced Spirit The Phantom: Same as Midnite just Bigger and Stronger. Ace Spirit Darkmess Edge: Same as Normal Edge just Stronger and Faster. Legendary Spirit Darkmess Bowser: A Bowser that is Stronger and Faster that also have an item to represent the Bowzooka (idk which one tho). Legendary Spirit

Time for more Mario + Rabbids Spirit Ideas Sandy & Blizzy: There would be 2 Mii Brawlers with the Rabbid Suit. One of the Mii Brawlers will have a Bomb-omb while the other has a Freezie. Ace Spirit [Due to being a Miniboss] Stooge: It is a Mii Gunner with the Rabbid Suit. Nothing else so Novice Spirit Flamin' Stooge: Same as Normal Stooge but floor burns you and the Stooge has a Fire Flower [If fire flower no exist then spicy curry] Novice or Advanced spirit you choose Wildclaw: A Giant Orange DK that is stronger than normal. Now to look like the biggest nerd alive... Ahem. Uhm ACKCHEWUHLEE, there's a mainline game that most people don't know about but does have its own set of power-ups: Super Mario Bros Special, the PC Port of Mario Bros. It has four items that are noticably different from the rest. The Wing lets Mario act like he's swimming midair, the Hachisuke grants Mario 8000 points (it's just the Hudson Soft logo), the Clock adds 100 seconds to the timer, and the Lucky Star nukes all enemies on screen and gives points like Mario collected a Super Star. There's also the Hammer from Donkey Kong and the Starman has a smile here, but they're identical to other power ups already shown.

Hey Odyssey! great video as usual. I think that with the recent release of overwatch 2, you should try making a spirit for every overwatch hero, as they all have rather diverse and unique movesets. P.S. a small channel called star chyme has on their channel a custom reinhardt spirit battle with a gray dedede who prefers hammer moves, which I think is a great Idea!

Idea and stuff: Make a spirit for Mario + Rabbids (Also I got some ideas for some characters also if some of these stuff does not exist then oof) Bedrock: a Mii Brawler with Rabbid Suit that is Metal, moves slower and deals more damage. Also the Bedrock Enemy is the same size as bowser. Ace Spirit Midnite: a Mii Brawler with Rabbid Suit that goes invisible randomly, falls down slower, jumps higher and moves faster. Ace Spirit Daphne: At the start of the fight a Wario that will spam Bike will spawn. Once the Wario is defeated a Mii Brawler with the Rabbid Suit that has a Deku Nut spawns. Ace Spirit Edge: a Mii Brawler with Rabbid Suit that has the Killing Edge and is faster than normal. Ace Spirit Cursa: At the start of the fight you need to fight 1 Giant Banjo & Kazooie. after Banjo & Kazooie is defeated Bedrock, Midnite, Daphne and Edge will spawn (Also Daphne spawns as Daphne herself no fake Momma spawns). After defeating the 4 a Giant Cringe will spawn (Also Cringe is Rosalina if you don't know) and since Cursa is the final boss of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of hope Cursa is a Legendary Spirit | [Below these explain the stuff for each spirit] | Bedrock: Rock Hard and also seems to be the same size as Bowser during Sparks of hope Midnite: Ghost Daphne: Plant Girl also the Wario that spams Bike is suppose to be Momma (The person Daphne fakes to be) Cursa: The Giant Banjo & Kazooie is a reference to the Megabug. Bedrock, Midnite, Daphne and Edge are the sparks hunters which are kinda Cursa's most loyal followers or smth idk lol anyways the Giant Cringe at the end is suppose to be Cursa Herself since it is just Megabug + Cosmic Power + Cringe so yeah

Here's what I would do for the Mega Mushroom: On Golden Plains Regular Against a Mario and Luigi Randomly, every 10 seconds, one of them would gain quadruple size increase, immunity and the ability to damage people by being simply touched for 15 seconds. You have to kill both to win. Legendary Spirit

I don't think a condition like this exists in the game, but in the goomba shoe battle donkey kong could prefer footstooling you, because when you are using goomba shoe, you can jump on enemies to defeat them(well at least it makes more sense here because it lets you jump on f.e. piranha plants too), and in the boost star spirit battle duck hunt preferring neutral and side specials would kinda fit because i've heard that it is supposed to be the like the guy who hunts the ducks in the original game is shooting the can, offscreen like when boost star is active you can tap the screen to damage enemies.

Personally I think there was a big missed opportunity with the power flower fight. It could be against a yoshi with spicy curry, a floaty mario, invisible luigi, and a metal wario to represent how it affects each character in 64DS.

Power flower should be a 1v4 team battle against a low gravity, light Mario, a Metal Wario, an Invisible Luigi, and a Fire Breathing Yoshi. It would probably be legendary Edit: I just found out it was the mario, Luigi, and wario caps battle
