Ranking EVERY Cape in Minecraft

Over Minecraft’s 15 year history there have been many different capes adding to the game for various reasons. Some were given out for attending minecon, some capes are player exclusive, and so on! By my count there have been 37 capes across java edition, bedrock edition, and consoles. In order to celebrate the 15th anniversary of minecraft, 3 brand new capes were added to the game: The 15th anniversary, the twitch cape, and the tiktok cape. With there being so many capes, some were bound to be worse than others, so today I thought it would be fun to make a tier list of every minecraft cape and their elytra based on their design. So join me as I rank every cape in minecraft from the worst to the best!

In an old version of Minecraft, the bedrock pancake cape would be in visible if you were wearing an elytra. So you could fly like superman.

6:50 Cheapsh0t actually has a KZbin channel. It's not very popular, but it is credited in his NameMC. He was actually nice enough to take a picture of his skin editor, and show us that he actually had the cape. Also, he did not get it from translating the game into Japanese. He got it for volunteering to translate at this one Minecraft convention in Tokyo.

I feel kind of stupid for missing out on these 15 year anniversary capes. During May this year, I was overworking myself at school and had some family problems, during the midst of that I was burnt out on Minecraft and completely missed out on it. I literally just got back in to Minecraft yesterday and just heard about the 15 year anniversary capes. The creeper one looks cool... if only I was interested enough in Minecraft during May this year to get it. I've been playing Minecraft on and off since december 2013 and still have no java edition cape (I didnt get Java edition until November 2022 as well...).

I think namemc only shows the number of players who have worn each cape at least once, not the total number of players who own it. For example, it only showed the capes I own after putting them on for the first time. The same goes for some youtubers who I know should have more capes than namemc shows (those who I know participated in the 2023 mob vote for example).

The TikTok cape is definitely my favorite. Yes I'll admit I have some bias for it because its one of the few I have, but I still think it looks genuinely awesome. If every player could use every cape so the notion of rarity wasn't applicable, I would use the TikTok cape, because I think it looks the best.

on one side, I like that people can have capes, practically everyone can, but something else was to see someone with cape way back then, when it was super rare thing, especially when I havent coming to any international servers or watched international YTbers, I dont think I met anyone with legit cape myself (back then warez version let you play as anyone so sure, I seen capes but on accounts technically stolen by using name of other people)

There is also a misplaced pixel on the Db cape, the Millionth Customer cape, and even though you didn't mention it because it's a testing cape, the Sniffer cape also has a misplaced cyan pixel. The strange thing is, all of the misplaced pixels are in the same place, the left of the bottom of the cape. Stange.

only thing that bothers me about the new 15th anniversary cape is that the creeper face design on it is one pixel higher than the minecon 2011 and live 2019 ones also, couldn't agree more with the top 2! purple and red are my absolute favorite colors and i'm happy to own both these capes :)

Glad I’m not the only one who thinks that the Minecon 2016 cape looks sick. Thought I was just biased because it’s the only exclusive cape I own. I absolutely love what they did with the elytra texture and I’m surprised they haven’t gotten more creative with other elytra textures (with some exceptions, of course!)

The Twitch Cape is the reason why I created a Twitch Acc in the middle of the night, load a stream for 25 mins to fet the code. It just looks sooooo amazing, especially with Elytra. I even put aside my custom capes I modded into the game for it 🥰🥰🥰🥰.

Personally and this is just me, but I hope Mojang continues to pass out capes if your participating in Mob Votes on the bedrock servers in the future. Because when I got the Cherry Cape, I was so happy. Because as an old player that's been playing this game since 2011, I never gotten a cape like the one in the mob vote server on Bedrock.

if you're on java edition the other two won't be available until july, but on bedrock edition they should all be available now

I agree with almost everything here, but I'd rate the TikTok cape a little higher because both the cape and the Elytra are very unique looking and it stands out quite a bit. I hate TikTok but I cannot deny that the cape by itself is so cool. Also the TikTok cape changes the default Elytra model slightly by modifying the pixels at the bottom sides of the Elytra to give it more of a "sharper" look. It's a little hard to notice though.

Hey man, seeing as you like Ranking video so much, here’s an interesting one you could try that I’ve always thought about doing myself. Ranking all the Unique Benefits every weapon in tears of the Kingdom has. What I mean by this is that every kind of weapon has a Unique buff, which is typically highlighted in a blue text on the weapon. For example, royal weapons increase the strength of your flurry rush, soldier weapons allow you to charge you’re spin attack faster for less stamina, royal guard weapons do double the damage when they’re about to break, Zora weapons do double the damage when they get wet So on and so forth. This could be an interesting little video to do, and allows you to cover tears of the Kingdom! (Also, this sounds stupid, but if you want help, making a video, I’d love to hand. OK, bye-bye)
