Had one for 8 years in the 60's. He refused to go to bed until we found our cat, Sam, and Sam and Fritz would curl up and sleep together. Neither one would sleep without the other. I have the pictures of Sam curled up in Fritz's lap, both asleep. Of all the dogs I have had, not one touches Fritz's intelligence. When I took a nap mid afternoon, I worked nights, no matter where Fritz was, he would curl up in front of the couch and wait for me to get up.

You really need to know about GSDs before taking one on. They are the ultimate velcro dogs, they need regular, decent exercise and they really know how to put the guilts on you if you need to leave them for 5 minutes. Privacy, even in the loo....forget it. And definitely do NOT get one if you are all at work all day. They cannot BEAR to be left alone. However if all that is understood you will never have a more loving, loyal soulmate in your life. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
