Man this is surreal. When I was a kid, my family used to go to Weirs Beach for a week every summer in August. My Dad always rented a motorboat and we'd just ride all across Lake Winnipesaukee. The Funspot was like a magical wonderland for me and my brother, and we'd ask our parents to go multiple times throughout the week. It's been 10 years since we went on that trip. My Dad just passed last month, and we're planning to go up to the Lake in August to scatter his ashes. As always, Stephen and Mal, thank you for everything, but thank you especially for this trip down memory lane.

Seeing that old-timey "Shoot the Bear" game reminds me of all the really old-timey arcade stuff I used to see whenever I'd go to Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum when I was growing up. If you guys are ever here in Michigan, be sure to check the place out for yourself sometime. It's an _amazing_ place. Nowhere near as big as Funspot, but just seeing all the old-timey stuff is a real sight to behold. I'm hoping to show the place to my nephew someday.

Galloping Ghost is in Brookfield, a Chicago suburb! They claim themselves to be the largest arcade in the US to not tread on Funspot’s toes, which claims to be the largest in the world. GG is just the arcade game cabinets, no ticket redemption or anything like that. If you guys are ever in or around Chicago, their arcade and pinball are worth checking out! There’s also a zoo over there really worth a day’s visit.

Wow this is such a nostalgia trip. My parents had a timeshare that we went to every year in NH for many years that's about an hour from that arcade. This unlocked some serious memories that I had completely forgotten. In particular, there was one machine that my dad (stereotypical stoic manly man who never seemed interested in games) got super into because it was what he used to play when he was a kid. It was one probably the only time I ever got to play a game with him, which is such a precious memory now that he's pretty sick. Thank you for this trip down memory lane I really needed this.

This was a really good example of old-time Americana arcade, very different to the old seafront arcade tradition here in the UK - some of the early 90s-era stuff reminded me of machines I saw in Canada at the West Edmonton Mall or the arcade at the Skylon Tower in Niagara Falls.

So we have a Fun Spot down here in Florida that I ended up going to *years* ago for my birthday with my family (I might've been 10 at the time?) and I had a blast! I do remember they had games, but it was also like an amusement park with some rides and it even had 4 different go kart tracks! It was lots of fun for sure!

I'm pretty sure the Fun Spot amusement parks (officially called Fun Spot America, I think) in Florida and Georgia are actually completely unrelated to the Funspot arcade in New Hampshire. They just happen to have similar names and a few similar attractions, like the arcade games and mini golf.

XD EDIT: 25:32 I've actually had the chance to play in an After Burner arcade machine much like this one when I was younger, and let me tell you straight up, it is an absolute *BLAST* to play in. Imagine a cabinet that you had to sit in that had surround sound, full motion with not only the machine itself, but the screen as well, and the fast-paced action that After Burner provides. It is an absolute *thrill*, and I'm so glad to see that this place has one, despite the apparent pain it has with upkeep. =D
