Once you are approved, your university will let you know by email. Funza will let you know by SMS.

@Newton-f2b not residence and academic fees to worry about because eventually will be resolved. Focus on food and stationary in the begging of the 2nd and half months of the year. In conclusion, FEB, and MAR.

Hi, I'd just like to know if nsfas and funza is the exact same thing. I know that you're not allowed to have 2 different bursaries at the same time. Do I have to cancel one? Funza only got back to me in July? I received book allowance from nsfas only at the beginning of the year, nothing else. What do I do? Thank you

@kauthargaidien-k6p Please go to the Financial Aid office and tell them that you want to cancel NSFAS and go with Funza. You can start by writing email before you go there physically because verbal decision must be supported by written decision for future evidence. NSFAS funds every student in Higher Education Institutions and Funza Lushaka is a special programme for students pursuing teaching in priority subjects like Languages, Maths and Sciences related subjects. However NSFAS is the one that has all the budget money and pays all students but students under the programme of Funza Lushaka receive special offer as part of the programme. Do not hesitate to ask me anything if you need clarity. Thank you!

Minus your school fees and residence fees and the remaining is all yours. Cheaper residence means more money left. Yes NSFAS accredited is allowed. Watch the video again to recomprehend.

This year at CPUT first years were given R101 590. My school fees are R26000 I was given R75 590. And I had to look for my own affordable residence because the institution recommended residences are expensive. Be careful on residence please because you might be left with nothing. Residences are 2× the price of school fees.

Just apply they don't need matric or whatever to apply that will be sent by the school when you begin your classes in the university.

Sorry for late reply. The institution takes the academic fees(for your modules) and residence fees if your residence is linked to the instituition and what remains goes to your bank account. I saw on their website how they emphasized that you must be 30 years or younger to apply. I'm 28 years old and I applied for BEd first year, intermediate phase at UCT, they accepted me. I also applied for Funza, are they going to keep funding me if I do well academically until I hit 30? Or by 30 they will no longer fund me?

Yes. But other institutions like CPUT is not a must to pay registration fee it will be included in your outstanding balance and be paid once you are funded. Other institutions operate differently.

Yes they will understand as long as it appears in your student account for funding. Most fundings do not pay before end of March.
