I love this movie. Any movie that reflects an biographical depiction of an artist or a straight-up biography are my favorite films. Such a tragic last few years and end for Arbus, the ups and downs of searching, finding and not finding what your looking for over and over is beyond heartbreaking... Even once you "nail something" that moment is fleeting and then you are back in that awkward, starving place again searching for it again.

No song is ever truly done being written, no painting is ever done being painted, but that's what keeps the notes and paint flowing.

I loved everything about this movie. I was surprised it wasn't a box office, sleeper, or home video hit. Great cast, mysterious, and truly unique.

I can feel the same energy from this as I did from Secretary. No wonder I love this director so much! It’s the same guy!!

Oh yes!!! I feel the same vibe, this thought crossed my mind, but I didn’t know it was the same director! So good at capturing the pull between two people

I just watched this on HBO Max - about Photographer Diane Arbus - It’s weird but good

Such a great film. So odd that the critics really disliked it.

That's exactly what I expect from Nicole Kidman and R.Downey Jr.Great movie. It makes you think about it even when the lights go out.

This was really bad. I'm not really sure what the point is in making an 'imaginary biography' of someone. This film really devalues Diane Arbus's agency, originality and courage and reduces her to some sort of bimbo played by a breathy Nicole Kidman.

I hope that this is really what Diane was like! by that I mean, I hope that the movie accurately portrayed what she was and how she was based on interviews with people that knew her, etc. I would be interested in seeing it in that case. If not, though, then I wouldn't really care for it.

tall32guy This movie misses by a WIDE MARGIN - and its fabricated narrative feels like a HUGE INSULT to the genuinely fascinating life this woman led. And Kidmans' portrayal of Arbus is also way off. And Downey Jr is unintentionally hilarious - and that's never a place you want to be when you're an actor...!

If you're talking about RDJ, you're wrong. This came out in 2006, just 2 years before Ironman (arguably what saved RDJ).

@Rick Lopez I forgot I made this comment but I was talking about the director, he didn't make another movie for 10 years.
