This is long overdue, but I'd just like to take a moment to thank all of you who have watched my piano videos/lessons and posted comments over the last few years. I hope that my lessons have helped to provide a productive means of escape for some of you during these difficult times. I'm happy to see in the comments that so many people have used my videos as a starting point to begin learning how to play the piano. I know there are many of you out there that would love to see more lessons posted, but at the present time I am quite busy with other projects. Please continue to practice and learn songs, and most importantly, stay safe.

This is the best piano tutorial i have ever seen! I am a 38 year old man and have never learnt piano before. I googled "Fur Elise for beginner" and found this lesson. I started to play using my son's Piano. I can't believe that I can play the whole piece (of course very slowly) after watching all the lessons and practicing for a month! Thank you Steve Warner. Your video is so clear and detail. This is absolutely a great tutorial and i highly recommend to anyone who wants to learn playing Fur Elise without any background piano knowledge.

Thank you Steve. I found a keyboard in one of my closets and started messing around with it. I have never touched a piano or keyboard in my life. With the stresses of my business and everyday life I thought, how nice would it be to learn one of my favorite melodies.I looked on KZbin and your video popped up and I have not looked back since. I was laughed at when I told people I was going to learn to play Fur Elise from a video on KZbin. I guess it was a funny notion to everyone since I am 42 years old and run a rather large business, but now I am halfway through lesson three and I have not looked back. Thank you again Steve! Thank you for taking the time to teach anyone that wants to learn to play this beautiful melody. I can imagine this video took some time to put together. Thank you VERY much! I will post a video once I can play this and credit you 100%. I mean that from the very bottom of my heart.

5 years ago I tried learning this on the piano. We were living in a home that wasn't all the best and my father wasn't there. I went to my grandmothers electric piano and played this I remember it being super confusing because I had zero experience with the piano and throughout the years whenever I found a piano I would play this I would always stop at part four because I thought I couldn't do it. I have 3 years of experience and still know nothing I know the notes but don't know cords or how to read sheet music anymore. Today I sat at our piano and remembered you the first person to teach me how to play. So now I'm back I was nine then and now I'm fourteen and now we're not skipping part 4. Every once and awhile you would pop into my head and I would remember but then I would completely forget. So thank you!!!

For this song (and in particular, the first movement), small hands do not pose too much of a problem. The sustain pedal should be held down throughout each measure. This means that you can release each note almost immediately, allowing you to free up your entire hand to get to the next note. Your left hand can spend more time off the keyboard than it does playing notes, and this part of the song can still sound very good.

👍 By following this lesson I found out that I had an aptitude to play the piano having not able to read the music at all. Then, when I got it, I went to Flowkey to take beginner lessons and learn to sight read beginner music. When I could basic sight read, playing Flowkey's Fur Elise from a score was simple and a logical progression in the learning process. After 5 weeks I can now sight read the beginner's Canon in D, I Giorni, Morning Mood, Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring, Clair de Lune, Yesterday, Moonlite Sonata, Liebestraun #3, Prelude No.1 in C. All of it got launched by THIS video. Thank you Steve Warner! 👍

But then I discovered your channel, and went step by step through the lessons for für elise and was able to learn it semi-perfectly... Just made a mistake or two here and there when I played, but with more practice I could've been able to play it perfectly... But with the pressure I made more mistakes... Same, Im using my cousin's piano. Shes been learning for about 5-6 years, and its been just 2 days since im just playing around with the piano. I dont know anything bout' it; no notes, no tempo, nothing. I just learnt the Sa Re Ga Ma (right and left hand) from her in 10 minutes. My mom saw my interest and sent me this video. I just started playing Fur Elise (15 minutes ago) and I've finished about the first 3 lines. I'm so happy!!!! I never thought I'd learn piano this quick (even though I am a fast learner). I'll play this to her when my cousin gets back from her tennis class. :D

Agree with everyone else! I've watched a few other tutorials and they teach us abbreviated versions instead of slowing down the real thing. Thanks so much for sharing this!

This is the best tutorial that I have ever seen. I learned the first part at the first time I watched it.

I like your starting method of teaching. You don't complicate it by the need to read the score.

I normally don’t comment but this is super helpful. I’m a total beginner and I’ve learned this part in less than an hour. This is giving me a lot of confidence to continue. Can’t quite believe it. Thank you so much!
