This quest was genuinely the greatest quest ive ever played in any hoyoverse game, furina didn't deserve all this pain, she awakened with nothing but the knowledge of the fact that she needed to pretend to play the role of god. And if she failed to convince the people that she wasnt the god, then the people of fontaine would all be consumed to the flood. The poor girl fought for 500 years to save the people, and like raiden said, she already has the willpower of a god, and i havent heard something so true in my life.

Definitely. Out of the 3 successor Archons, Furina and Nahida are easily tied for the best imo. Both have endured suffering and pain, but have had the willpower to push on. This is particularly true for Furina, who had to endure 500 hundred years of pretending to be someone she isn't. It's like forcing an actor to continue playing an unsuited role. Both of them have great compassion for their people, Nahida even more so. I don't know about others, but I'm fairly certain the Nahida Rescue Squad (Cyno, Nilou, Dehya, Traveler, and Al Haitam) were all contemplating offing Azar at some point, but the sentence that Nahida gave him was a slap on the wrist at best. Tho I guess being under Tighnari would be insulting to Azar. As for Raiden, well, she had the right heart, just the wrong approach, I guess.

While I do agree that the archon quest for all of fontaine was amazing, I will never be able to get over the last couple of chapters of HI3rd part 1. But I've also been playing that game since it came out and connected to those characters a ton. The best of genshin for sure, but not the best of hoyo.

She SHOULD have gone to Miko to ask for help, or hell, seek out a person who has experience in leadership who can help advise her to be a decent leader for her people, considering that she has her people's support at that point. Her saying that Furina has the will of a god is RICH coming from someone who doesn't have that same will to ENDURE and PERSEVERE for her people, instead shutting herself off in her pocket dimension. Reckless as hell. Furina is human, but she'll ALWAYS be more of an Archon than Raiden could EVER hope to be, hell, she'll never be anywhere NEAR Makoto in terms of being a good leader.

This was one of those times where Hoyo's strict adherence to being completely hands off on relationships for their characters had a downside. I understand why they refuse to show any sort slightly intimate physical contact but that moment in game truly was beautiful simply because it gave Furina what she's always wanted, someone to confide in. Double points for actually giving us a good response from the Traveler. But yeah, a hug really would've made that scene perfect beyond compare. A shame to be sure but that's why we have fan artists

I really, really appreciate the writing in her story quest. It shows us who Furina was, *as a human being*. She's a natural leader, she cares for the people, she grasps the bigger picture, and she wouldn't hesitate to help even if things are out of her comfort zone. This conversation right here also naturally shows us her stance and emotions after stepping down, bringing in a lot of catharsis after one hell of a archon quest. Really, kudos to the writers, they mastered both her and Neuvillette's characters as the central duo

To go through such loneliness for 500 years without rest, a crushing task of protecting the world, and being forced to act like some omniscient and omnipotent being? It must have hurt more than anything I can imagine.

As my situation was similar to Furina's and also had to act with a mask of being as an ideal child for over 20 years for my life, it truly does hurt more than anything. In the perspective of that but lengthened 25-fold... that truly set me in tears as I knew what Furina went through as I did in real life. We truly both want to become the human we wanted to be and not to act as someone else, as Furina had to act as Focalors... I, Sage, had to act as someone named "Angel, the Ideal Child" for over 20 years and never the woman my identity as Sage had. And so, once I gain my own freedom just like Furina has... I'll become who I want to be, a strong and independant woman with a carefree love for her people she adores and commits well to her community.

THIS is the issue. After we've seen some of the best writing and unarguably the best archon quest - I wonder what went wrong with Furina's story quest. I remember starting her story quest ASAP, JUST to see a scene where we can tell her just how sorry we were to have only hurt her, pushed her and deceived her. It doesn't matter if we had "noble" intentions, we did something terrible to someone who was playing their role perfectly. I always imagined that a scene such as the one in this video would be what we will see AFTER we've deeply and profusely apologized to Furina. Y'all have to remember - just think - how she must have felt towards the end of the trial. Her secret revealed. All that pain that we later see her go through, all was for naught. Despite all her efforts, she failed. Her life was utterly pointless. Sure, this was "fated". Sure, others were also equally to blame. Sure, we may have made the best decision with the info we had. But does that change the reality? Without Focalars' smart plan, our actions WOULD have meant the end for Furina and Fontaine. We DID end up causing a lot of grief to Furina. AND, our professional ability to butt into business that's not ours made us one of the main people for Furina - we're the first person to not only know, but SEE and FEEL what Furina's been through. We finally were the ones to share her burden. BUT she didn't choose us! So we HAVE to take responsibility. We have to acknowledge what we saw, apologize for not trusting her, and accept that while she may forgive us on the surface, the damage we've done to her is basically permanent. Sure, Furina is one of the strongest characters and would definitely forgive us at some point, but y'all are telling me she feels NO resentment towards us? Bs. Think about all the quotes we get from her when ascending her and in the teapot. Are we really deserving of those words after the way we treated her in the story quest? Would she really say those things after what we've done, and haven't even apologized? I agree that there are some beautiful parts in the story quest that really give some need closure to her character, and I really liked that she didn't pay us much attention during the story quest - quite a mature response. But I still hated all the positive interactions she has with us and Paimon - to me they all seem forced and out of line - only untill WE very deeply apologize to het. These interactions could have gradually followed after that. They still have the chance to make it right, by adding a scene in one of the interlude archon chapters that usually follow soon. Until then I'm unsatisfied that we get an 11/10 archon quest but only a 3 or 4/10 story quest as a conclusion. At least this is my opinion.

In her story quest there were translation issues I think. I watched someone play it in Chinese, and it seemed more like playful teasing or banger rather than upright being mean, and a lot of it was weird and the interactions were out of place.

Given the dire situation, she knows better than to blame Aether and the gang for what they had to do, it was just multiple unfortunate circumstances. And he did say sorry when the trap was revealed so there’s that. And the way Traveler treated her was nice and comforting for the most part. He was a bit disingenuous at the start when asking her to do a play when he knew the truth but after that he made sure she was good so yeah the positive interactions between the 2 were deserving. Paimon though really needed to shut up so it definitely brought the score down, but it sure as hell isn’t a 4/10 story quest

She’s had a difficult life. From the beginning, she didn’t had much of a choice. Now that the prophecy has been completed, she is free from ever having to pretend to be someone else that she isn’t. Of course, changing to being who you really are and feel is difficult for her because she had to pretend all her life and it has taken an emotional toll on her. But that’s why the traveler is there, she is longer alone anymore. Very cool and emotional video you have here. Zannir, I like the way how you interpret the emotions on these characters. Furina might be one of the most well-written archons and characters in genshin impact, incredible, she had such a strong mind and will to pretend for 500 years that she was a mighty archon for the sake of protecting her people, one can easily break mentally with that situation but she didn't but at the cost of feeling so much pain in trying to make herself a credible archon and reaching the expectations of her people, everyone thought at first she was a self-centered spoiled deity but in the end, none of that attitude came from the real Furina and after finally being how she really was, she's free to do whatever she wants and now she has become one of the most endearing characters, what an incredible character development, she deserves so much love

A scene we wished we had seen in her story quest, at least. But honestly, while most people where a bit disappointed because traveller and paimon didn't even apologize for doing her dirty on the trial, I think just being a good listener and companion to Furina, letting her vent out her burdens during their visit to Poisson is the most appropriate way to apologize to her. (I mean, have poeple even forgotten that Traveller knows how to read the mood when it's necessary?) And so, they're now even. Traveller owes Furina reassurance while Furina owes Traveller some answers after decieving everyone as an apology. (Tho, Traveller doesn't even really need her to give them explanations, But Furina still deserves someone whom she can share her burden.) And now Furina has made her very first friend that she can trust aside from Neuvillette. It is us, travellers. Congratulations to her freedom!
