One thing I love that Miller does with the Mad Max world is the attention to detail with language. Language has degraded over time and some words have different meanings now. 'Lady and Gentlemans' in the trailer for example. ❤

A lot of people don't know it but there's the movie "Bad Times At the El Royale", it's a masterpiece but unfortunately it had a bad promotion and limited release and it didn't do well but for me it's one of the most underrated movies of recent years, in that movie Chris Hemsworth is the villain and he does it FANTASTICALLY, he doesn't get a lot of screen time but he shines amazingly and in the act of the movie where he comes out is the best, highly recommended movie

Wait, the timeline of this doesn't fit into the world, though. If this takes place 45 years after the collapse, then what are we considering the collapse? Is it when the world was destroyed by the bombs? If so, then Max in Fury Road should be no younger than 45. If we take into consideration his possible age before the collapse, let's just be generous and say he was 21. That would make him 66, but then you also have to add his age after this story. Fury Road takes place roughly 20 years after this story. That would make Max 86 in Fury Road. The math ain't mathing.

There’s a theory that Max is Myth/Legend of the wasteland, a folk lore tail that is told after a stranger wanders into peoples lives and ends up helping them, and disappears at the end. Notice max does this in every movie minus the 1st This theory has been made because there is really no official timeline

I was wondering the same thing. The only ways it can make sense to me would be if someone fucked up and meant to say 45 days instead of 45 years or if it really does take place 45 years after the apocalypse, then it's possible the Mad Max we saw in Fury Road could be a descendent of the Mel Gibson version rather than the same person. It's also possible he could've been a different character altogether and simply took up the name and tries to live up to the legend. Other than these scenarios, I agree the math ain't mathing.

Nice reaction - I'm resisting seeing this because I'm upset Miller didn't build this project around Charlize Theron - since it's only because of Theron's ferocious portrayal that Furiosa took off as a character and warranted this spin-off - at the same time, Miller is one of our poets of kinetic cinema - he's one of the few directors, along w Michael Mann and Zack Snyder, who I'd love to see adapt Homer's Iliad - I'm also eager to see Hemsworth re-establish his groove - it's been difficult for these MCU stars to regain their balance outside that franchise -

That car coming over the dune at 2:57 sure did look & feel like CGI. That will be extremely disappointing if they're using CGI instead of practical stunts. I was already not super happy that Theron wasn't reprising the role (I get it, it's about Furiosa as a younger person), but if the stunt work isn't going to be as impressive as Fury Road, then I'm out.

Mad Max Fury Road was a bait and switch that brought out a lot of Mad Max fans. Most were expecting to get more of Mad Max's storyline. So, Furiosa won't do as well as Mad Max Fury Road in terms of box office. Sure Fury Road was great visually but the character I cared about was Mad Max. But I know the character Furiosa picked up some fans. But Hollywood is facing backlash for baiting and switching fans then blaming fans for being ... No on likes bait and switch so stop it or learn the hard way when people don't show up to your movies.

What's the bait and switch? Max is never the main character. He's always the mythological character who helps out some group that gets all the character development and then leaves. The first movie might be the only exception. You'd know this if you actually watched the movies.
