I recommended that movie only a couple of hours ago saying the same thing, that is criminally underrated! I think Hemsworth doesn't get enough credit for doing a great job in just-ok movies, or even in bad movies (he was great in Ghostbusters, the movie was bad...), I would love a movie with Hemsworth as the villain and Hiddleston as the hero, think it would be great fun :))

I heard about it quite a while back before Anya was even cast that they were not going to have Charlize in this film and they weren't going to use de-aging tech and all that. Maybe we'll get to see her in a future adaptation... but at this point- it could go either way. I think Anya will do an amazing job. 🥰 They may continue her story in another movie. Like @mitube4u said, I'd still l9ve to see more Charlize all the same.

There was loads of cgi in fury road, it was just done very well that you couldn’t notice, cgi here looks a bit more noticeable (maybe it’ll get fixed in 5 months time)

Yeah, it’s really sad that movies nowadays decide to be so lazy when it’s so much more expensive the way they’re doing it with the settings & whatnot, like you’re gambling on that box office revenue when you really shouldn’t. Tom Cruise, Martin Scorsese & Christopher Nolan can only do so much to leave everything practical, but other filmmakers & studios aren’t getting the hint & so they end up taking the lazy way out.

nop... this is an american cinema problem... hollywood idea of an strong lead woman its awful.... the idea of a strong women is to make them obnoxious and unapologetic for being confident and doing what ever the hell they want... For as insightful as Grace is on so many things, she just doesn’t get it as far as what the “trolls” don’t like in movies. I’m a card carrying person that she would classify as a troll, yet I’m gonna be there in IMAX opening night for this movie. Looks okay. My two minor gripes are that the CGI looks too obvious compared to Fury Road, and Anya Taylor-Joy doesn't look a thing like Charlize Theron in face, physicality, or presence, even accounting for the fact that she's playing a younger version. She looks like she'd be a Bride even with the amputation and the muck. It's those delicate elfin features. Theron was much more blunted and earthy compared to Taylor-Joy's sharp ethereal essence. I had to keep reminding myself that they're supposed to be the same person. My major gripe is that I don't want a PREQUEL. I want to see Furiosa in a new adventure that progresses her further forward, not regresses her to a point before the whole arc we just saw her take in the last movie, and played by a different person to boot.

There is (maybe) one CGI shot in the whole trailer. Everything else was in camera. They may have done some color grading with the sky, although I wouldn’t bet on it. And they probably did the night scenes with a filter, but except maybe some work on the city shot for a second and a half none of that was CGI. You should look at some stills from desert landscapes and it might change your mind. They look otherworldly.

There never was a "campaign against female led movies". Grace's business brain pops out of the Hollywood bubble every once in a while but her heart keeps pulling her back in. But while she and others keeps repeating the narrative and Hollywood keeps destroying male led franchises, I do wonder if at some point the mythical "campaign against female led movies" becomes reality. I do agree that this might not be the right time to release this movie.

I don't think the issue will be Taylor-Joy as Furiosa. But not having Max in the movie might as he is the franchises name. Maybe this will become Episode 1: Furiosa and Episode 2: Fury Road Episode 3 becomes Theron's Furiosa's end movie her return to the fold at the end of Fury Road going onward and what happened when she takes over. If they can get her the finale with her in it would make up for no Max

Hemsworth has been excellent the couple times I’ve seen him play a villain so excited to see him do it again here. I went to a convention once where he said that he wished he could play more villains cause it opens up his ‘acting toolbox’ so happy to see him getting the occasional chance.
