@@KongsRUs i just remembered the first game they released gauntlet had problems with it and it was modified as well with street fighter 2. it had missing sprites and other changes to it. centipede as well. I documented some in my 2018 videos

They may of had to edit some things out to make the PCB run smoothly. This stuff won't bother the average A1Up consumer, but yes, others will be upset. I got 2 cabs on pre-order. No regrets.

I went back and watched the F&F 1Up stream - it’s no wonder why they chose to show only the Tokyo Drift gameplay. Because the actors, girls, iconic cars (Even the Mitsubishi advertised all over the cab), f&f arcade rom, etc. are not in this Fast and Furious arcade replica. It’s a complete bait n switch trying to time this with the movie release. What about this cabinet other than the artwork and tracks have to do with the original fast and furious?

Thanks for the Heads up Bee. I was really looking forward to this game and was gonna purchase 2 cabs to link up when they went down to $400 to $450. Now, im not sure i even want to buy just 1 at all! If the original car that is on the art work isnt in the game, then whats the point? Im tired of 1 UP not being honest with us who really support their company. Just tell us the truth and i think most of us would respect it. Blitz and MVC2 should have been the last time they released a product that isn't exactly what they said it was gonna be. I have a feeling after the first wave of these cabs being sold that this is gonna be Ridge Racer all over again. When will they make these things properly? I guess i will wait to see the reviews that come out next weekend? Thanks again for the great content!

Problem is, this cabinet isn't for "the casuals"... not at $600. If they sold it at $299, then sure, you get what you get. But there's no way it's worth a more premium price, now that we know we're only getting half the game and less than half the cars!

Thanks Bee for the informative video. My take is, did anyone at Arcade1up bother to question the cabinet art reflecting a car that is not in the game? That seems to be the biggest boo boo. At 599 its a hard sell, at 299-399 Id be willing to overlook the usual Arcade1up missteps!

Yea, original mistsubishi eclipse on the cab was actually never in the original FnF game, it was the 2000 eclipse, not the 99 version that was in the movie. All the same, either of them aren't in this cab at all 😞

I’m going to be honest Bee the casual gamer won’t care they just want a driving game in their game room. If you want authenticity in my opinion then get into real arcades. FF full sized is easily attainable in fact in the LA area there is one in great condition for 900 on offer up and Captains Auction always has tons of these that go for auction. I think we have way to high of expectations on 3/4 scale replicas

Casual gamer may not care you're right, but there's still so many issues with how they branded this Cabinet is the main issue. High expectations or not, it's misleading to NOT actually have the marquee game on the cabinet, but it's sequel expansion version.

I'm loving my F&F cabs. The linked play is wicked fun. The cabs look great. I don't get all the complaining. It's a really fun cab. I think people jumped the gun on hating on it. So many reviews before it even got in peoples hands. Getting tired of the toxicity in the community. Its getting to be a downer.

Im not a lawyer but at what point is a product so different from advertising that there are lawsuits? This isn’t the first time they’ve advertised titles but customers find out later certain features that make the games are missing. This just feels wrong to me…

I have a problem. I bought a wheel, pcb, and marquee on ebay to mod my OutRun to play F&F and I had a shelf with an extra G panel for a different wheel and the F&F wheel deck fits on it, it's shorter than the OR and RR decks. But, it won't turn on because there is a short black cord coming out of the deck and OR uses a single cord and I guess F&F uses a Y adapter. Where can I get a Y adapter?

I am going to pass on this one, but I really hope the eventual port for the Time Crisis games get better treatment. This does have me concerned as there used to be this strong commitment to getting these games as Arcade accurate as possible, but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. Anything to keep costs down I guess.

@@Paul_70 mike B is streaming for 2 hours to talk about whether it’s One game or not. When we already know it’s FF with 12 tracks and the drift mechanics and Dift with only 7 tracks but broken up into “two games”. So in essence you’re getting Drift but split in two.

Looks like they ran into licensing issues with a lot of the cars (Even the one on the advertised artwork). How do you not have the iconic Vin Diesel Pontiac GTO for fast and furious?!?! 8 out of 23 cars… are you kidding me? It’s a racing game… it’s about RACING CARS. So you’re saying it’s not even Fast and Furious but it’s some hybrid combination of the two? That it’s really Tokyo Drift cars on Fast and Furious tracks? 😮 It’s really concerning what roms customers are actually getting here. It doesn’t look like the original arcade version of the game - they’ve removed the drivers and girls - upscaled to 960p with 30fps. If it’s really Tokyo drift masquerading as Fast and Furious that would really be unfortunate. What was the point of getting this Fast and Furious license if you’re going to basically make your own game up, not have the actors, not have the original iconic cars, and present it as Fast and Furious? I can’t believe it’s Tokyo Drift 8 out of 23 cars on Fast and Furious tracks… my god the bait n switch here. - P.S. I want to say thank you for sending me the giveaway I won. I received it in perfect condition - it was well packaged and delivered very quickly.

While the lost car liscenses are a bit unfortunate, I have no issue with the modifications to the og game since F&F Drift is one of my favorite games ever made, and i never played the original.

It’s definitely a first to have a skinned cabinet not have the content in game. I’m still glad the software has an “upgraded” version though. It has the Ford Gt and Chevrolet Camaro. 👏🏻👍🏻

If this ends up truly being a single game split, then that would be a big failure (again) in transparency on Arcade1up's part. Initially, the majority of the community either didnt care about this game and borderline resented it for not being Cruisin/Daytona, or in some cases didnt even know an F&F arcade existed. But they also just want a racing cab. So A1U could have easily went with this split approach for a port and just marketed it this way ahead of time with no issues. Instead, they are asking for people to preorder with little assurance in what the product will consist of. I figured they learned their transparency lesson with mvc2 and blitz, but if this F&F turns out this way, it will start making me assume they are purposefully being vague about aspects they feel may impact sales even if an informed and happy customer should be the goal.

Here’s the thing. It’s not like Arcade1up can’t do other racing games. Not sure why everyone is crying about not having Daytona and Cruisn. If they had plans to do a FnF why would they bring it out after Daytona and Cruisn when everyone would just ignore this. Best to do this FnF now before the other harped about games see the light of day. I for one am a diehard FF fan and glad this is coming out. Im ok with being the only dude in the community who doesn’t need Daytona or cruisn.

This sounds so goofy i had to rewatch the beginning of your video like 4 times to understand. If that is the case, I just dont know why they cant change the likeness of the cars, kinda like they did for the Outrun car in that release. Maybe thats hard to do but cutting a game in half and calling it something else sounds like way more work imo

The true answer will lie in the drift mechanic as it was only present in the drift game. If those tracks of the original games have it when you boot up FNF. then yes they basically split Drift and sent the FNF tracks over to the FnF game if FNF tracks don’t have the drift mechanic then the original FNF tracks are being used and they are only using the drift mechanics for the 7 Drift tracks for the Drift game.

Sounds like the community panicking over nothing again. They’ve used Drift as the “build” meaning why have two data sets for the same tracks? Makes sense from a technical stand point if it’s gonna make the pcb run smoothly. I can’t wait for next week to test this thing out!

I don't disagree it'll be fun and should run fine on the pcb (hopefully). It's more about the marketing and use of the original FnF cab design and art, went that version of the game isn't actually on the cab. Look forward to seeing how it plays and linked up play looks.

It all comes down to vehicle licensing and what Arcade1Up is willing to pay to retain them. If you did a deep dive you would have seen that the original arcade games suffered from these same issues. Nearly everytime Raw Thrills released a different revision of FnF or Drift, cars would be removed from the roster. The version of Drift running in Teknoparrot is a middle revision that's already missing cars from the 1.0.

arcade 1ups is only good for 1 player gaming, 1up is the worst when it comes to playing with your friends, the space between the joysticks is very annoying and unplayable. i rather play extra for the real Arcade Cabinet, and awesome video good sir. and i was able to download the fast and the furious on the PC.

Crusing blast is such a disappointment . The car is way too easy to control , makes the game so boring . No challenge . It’s like driving a real car . What makes fast n furious fun is how hard it is to control the car on the turns , u have to work at it to build up ur skill .

The most iconic cars from Fast & Furious aren't even in this version. It would be like putting out the X-men cab with the original graphics on it but not having Wolverine or Cyclops in the game and replacing them with Havoc and Iceman. Still characters from the series but not what you think you're getting. It's scummy.

@@KongsRUs yeah, this is the biggest issue against lisenced themes, and the materials they sport. More often than not arcade1up has to make these revisions as some groups never accounted for these partnerships being revisited, legally speaking, whatever arcade1up is doing is entirely down to them playing it safe. of course if arcade1up's F&F is just a recode of the Crusin Wii title then it's best to look at it from two angles. on one hand, its probably because actual tecknoparrot is a very stressful hardware for consumer gaming as even some PC hardware has trouble with it, so they really wanted to just do what they could, On the other hand, this stresses what i said in my SEGA Naomi Top 5, Where the Arcade roms may be too robust for the existing hardware, so arcade1up may use the console versions as they may feature more content and require less strain to run correctly. i would not be suprised if BBH from 2019 was the Wii Rom as well to an extent.

Arcade1up version is supposed to run at 30fps while the arcade runs at 60.

I guess it's like how Ridge Racer for Playstation was downgraded to 30 fps but the arcade and Arcade1up versions are identical at 60 fps? But F&F and Drift are newer games than the games on Ridge Racer, which are all 90's I believe. F&F was 2004 and Drift 2007. Arcade1up/Tastemakers didn't upgrade their pcb's and had to modify the F&F games to run smoothly and cars are missing because they didn't want to pay the licenses to use them. They are essentially newer Cruis'n's since Eugene Jarvis did the three original Cruis'n's, the F&F games, and Cruis'n Blast. Jarvis worked for Midway then in 2001 founded Raw Thrills as Midway was going belly up and Warner Bros. got the Midway IP.

It’s more so the game choice. Why did they even go for THIS GAME let alone the “design” choice. The cruis n series was what pretty much everyone has been waiting for by 1up arcade. Obv they could fit NUMEROUS crus n arcade titles in one cab. It’s pretty much the original “car racer” “EVERYONE” remembers from the arcades and it’s def one of the OGs. Imo this was a huge fail. Not even talking ABOUT the design AT ALL. The fail was so apparent you don’t even have to look at further. I saw fast and furious and I already tuned out. It could look however it wants, function, not function. Lost me at the title. Facts.
