Furious Egypt Strikes Israel After Rafah Assault; Cairo Joins South Africa's Genocide Case At ICJ

In a major blow to Israel, Egypt said that it will intervene to support South Africa's genocide case against Israel at ICJ. Egyptian foreign ministry announces decision to back case against israel at Int’l Court of Justice. South Africa had filed a case against Israel at the world court last year over Gaza war. Egypt has also urged Israel to comply with obligations, implement measures issued by the ICJ.

Does the ICJ have an actual police force? Who is responsible for the physical arrest of a suspect? Pointless issuing judgments if there is no one to incarcerate a suspect

The ICJ has an extremely weak record of prosecution. If a warrant is issued for a person who resides in their sovereign state, the ability for the ICJ to extradite them is nearly zero. Only if they leave the country, or there is a change in government may they be able to be extradited.

@@marcusm663 My understanding is this is role of the ICC not the ICJ. The role of ICJ is to rule on issues between states while the ICC would rule on issues against individuals. So the ICC can issue warrants to arrest individuals, while the ICJ can urge states to abide by a ruling but can’t enforce it.
