The 75 is one of those vastly underrated cars. Undeservedly so, as it's very classy, especially in the right spec and colour.

It really is. You will never sit in a more comfortable, better riding car this side of a Rolls-Royce.

@robincook3367 I've often heard of it being referred to as a "Baby Bentley". For a fraction of the price and running costs of course.

The 75 is looking great! Hopefully there's an MoT test pass in its near future. Regarding the seats, the leather ones look fantastic and I love mine, but I do have to concede that the velour ones are just that bit more comfortable. Warmer in the winter, cooler in the summer and just have a little more 'give' in them that makes them feel a bit softer to sit in.

One way to unblock the washer line is to connect the jet end of the pipe to an airline and give it a quick blast to blow any blockage back the way it came. My go to washer fluid was a tiny drop of Fairy Liquid (others are available) and an egg cup full of Methalated Spirit or Ethanol (rubbing alcohol) to one pint of water, cuts through road grease and prevents freezing in winter.

The washer bottle may have a filter on it which gets blocked by gunk you hear the motor but no water easy fix take apart the motor and clean the filter or jets may be blocked
@TomMGR

Came to write this. It does and it’s exactly what it will be. DMGRS sell a filter with bigger holes that blocks up less.

Never put the one shot neat into the screen wash bottle, it'll sink to the bottom and turn into jelly gunk and block the filter. Always premix the solution with water and then pour in.
@kevincraven4038
@kevincraven4038 Күн бұрын
Yes that off side front wheel arch liner will have to come off to expose the pump, pull it out of the washer bottle and the filter is on the end of the rubber bung... swap it for DMGRS replacement and away ya go!
@johnmoruzzi7236
@johnmoruzzi7236 18 сағат бұрын
Yes they all do that sir. I did the bung unblock thing last year, this year the motor just packed up so had to go through the wheelarch rigmarole all over again. Replacement “BMW” item around £12 from Ebay…. all ok now. The fluid level sensor was playing up too so I had to clean that up as well. Need to put a washing up bowl under the car to catch all the new washer fluid… ask me how I know !

Brake fluid cleans best with water in my experience. I learned that from an old mechanic. Before that I was using brake parts cleaner and all that.
@Bratfalken
@Bratfalken Күн бұрын
I use one of these lids with a hose to bleed brakefluid, you connect the hose to a tirevalve and have less than 2Bar in the tire. Pumping the main cylinder deeper than normal braking while bleeding can make it's seals reach parts of the cylinder that hasn't seen any movement in a long time, and watermixed brakefluid can have made it rust, and therefore destroying the seals on the main cylinder piston.
@Bratfalken
@Bratfalken Күн бұрын
But when using it you need to keep an eye on the amount of fluid to not induce more air, and when topping up loosen the tube from the wheel first.

When torquing fasteners with copper grease just reduce the torque value by 25-30% and you will get the correct clamping force (important on alloy wheels) and you`re sorted.

Use cat litter to absorb brake fluid. Pour it over, leave for a week or so, sweep up, job jobbed. Also to dispose of old brake fluid, cat litter in a plastic tray, pour brake fluid in, leave a few days, then empty into a bin bag.
@bikeman123
@bikeman123 14 сағат бұрын
Not sure about your disposal tip. It will go to landfill and rain will wash it into the water course. Dispose of brake fluid by adding it to waste oil and take it to the recycling centre.

If you can access the washer pump, unplug the hose and try blasting some compressed air up it before taking all the bonnet lining off. Not too high a pressure and it often shifts a blockage.

I just asked Google about the serpent wheels. Yikes! Looks horrible, inho. That horror show aside, 'cause i want to forget them asap: Your love for this car is clearly showing. That alone makes these videos a good watch. Definitely worth considering keeping it, and perhaps selling the swedish brick you never use. I'm a Volvo fan, but there isn't much sense in keeping a car you dont drive...unless you have lots of room for it, which you don't have. Anyways, no matter what you decide to do: It's a joy seeing you pamper this car 🙂

Good luck with the screen wash. It will probably turn into a video. I had a BMW 420d convertible the other day the fluid had turned into a gel. It was located behind the wing. Wheel off,liner out. I still could not remove the tank because of the vent on the wing that is fitted from the inside. Had to drill the vent out and glue it back. Job took two and a half hours.
