Furman Heavy-Duty 1800 Watt Line Conditioner Review

This is designed for vending machines and computers and electronic equipment in industrial environments it is 15 amps, has heavy duty components and is meant for mounted installation. Furman is a big name in power conditioning equipment, this unit is a bit overpriced for what it is but it is built well.

I got one of these to mount on the wall behind my 8K Flatscreen TV. Mine is the AC-215A. From what I understand is that the newer (A) version just adds auto-reset when it shuts off do to a surge. Basically you don't have to flip the switch to turn it back on, which I find as a convenient feature for when it is tucked away in a hard to reach place. Only thing I wish it had was a extra socket or two, but it is not a major issue since I just use it for the TV and streaming stick. Of coarse if the surge is bad enough ill probable have to replace it anyways. Only time will tell. At the end of your video you mentioned lighting. That is actually the main reason I purchased this to try out. I have tried many types of surge protections over the years and wanted to see how this one handles while taking use of some of its added features. When I lived in our MS house down south we would get a lot of lighting strikes. For some strange reason this one corner of our house got hit all the time. Me and my neighbor had lost a lot of equipment from lighting. Heck we even had to have the cable and phone lines in our yards replace like 3 times. Anyways I always use some sort of surge protection on our all our devices now. My sister lives in that house now. So its lighting issues is her problem now. LOL

I bought the Furman power strip with noise filtration. EMI and RFI. I plugged my Bravia 4k and PS4 pro and was playing assassin's creed odyssey. The picture quality was noticably better. Haven't used either without the surge protector. Just ordered one of these conditions for my tube guitar amps but from what he's saying it's not to effective for that purpose. Probably try it on my TV and PS

Nice review!, but I'm sure any kiosk machine is going to have whatever power protection it needs already built into it. If the kiosk was acting up the first thing they'd do is check the power and unplug any gadget like this in the way of the power. 😉

The Big diodes could be Zener's shunting both output lines to ground to eliminate transients. Could not make the number out with you flopping it all about.

For the price (200$), it doesn't offer much! I just hope it is filtering some of the noise we got from the wall outlet. Good video but I would like to know if you hear a difference when you plug it in your audio system.

The big diodes are TVS diodes that work like MOVs but are non compromising. Better than MOVs.

Having just 2 outlets means it isn't a relocatable power tap (code term for power strip) so it would meet code to plug relocatable power taps into it. Otherwise, it would violate code to daisy chain power strips, UPSes, etc into it. This is.important when selling into professional/commercial environments where meeting code is required.

I just got one the other day. Im happy with it. I got a couple tube amps and one solid state guitar amp. The tube amps are much quieter when idle. My line6 spider3 combo even sounds better.

That c13 and c14 IEC connector is rated for 10 amps max. It's weir they label it as a 15 amps.

typically they are rated for 15A in north america/120v

These are great for high end TVs, subwoofers and theater projectors ($4,000+) that are too far away from the stack of gear's Furman power center. They clean the power but it can only really be picked up in the best displays. The Furman guys would come to the store I worked at and plug the TV directly into the wall then these, it seemed like it was brighter. He may have pulled some smoke & mirrors but I did think it made a difference.

I bought the Furman sb6 power strip. EMI RFI protection. Plugged my Bravia 4k and PS4 pro into it. Was playing assassin's creed odyssey and when the game loaded up and I started playing I immediately noticed an improvement in picture quality. Waiting on one of these right now.
