I think a gilding wax or dark wax in the embossing on the white bench would help the detail show up more. Wow. They were all beautiful.

Thank you! I’m still learning what my viewers would like to see. All the benches sold so I’m trying to remember what my price points were but I’m guessing between $149 - $225…and the little black bench less expensive…around $65ish. Great tip for the future to mention price points!

Probably too late for ideas but maybe for the future the queen white bench instead of distressing it would have been nice with some color of guiding wax to bring out the design on the back then maybe a little around some of the rungs of the posts just to coordinate.

The clay will have a nice flat surface if you wet your fingers to smooth it out before unmolding it.

Black or dark brown wax or glaze would be a show stopper with the teal and be great with walnut stain to bring out details. I have done almost exact same color teal with the black glaze in details but on a vintage spoon carved dry sink.

Wow, you really kicked butt!! My favorite color was the blue. My favorite bench was the twin with the embellishments--love that IOD bling. I am with you on distressing because it adds so much character , depth and detail as well as camouflage for future dings and scrapes. I thing reclaimed pieces like the ones you are doing can look flat when they are left solid especially when using chalk paint. I am headed to the shed to find my grown son's old twin bed frame. Thanks for the inspiration.
