These are the types of people that give furries a bad rep. Furries - for the uninitiated - are simply people who enjoy media with anthropomorphic animals (animals with human traits; walking on two legs, talking, etc.) Therians or Otherkin - like the kid mentioned here - are the sorts who believe that they are an animal. Even a majority of Therians are still normal per se, but loud minorities exist everywhere unfortunately. The furry fandom in general is quite chill, but with misconceptions spread by news media and such, the public image is far from positive. -- End rant.

several people have already mentioned the correct term: That's not a furry, that's a convinced otherkin with severe attention deprivation. As a furry I really don't care about these people, because they're not only just making themselves clowns, but are often also extremely lonely and depressing and I don't wanna have to deal with their shit. The problem is that these people are the bad apples of the communities and the only people that stand out publically, as normal furries tend to hide their interests (unless they go to a furry con or something). That means that many people will automatically assume that all furries have this type of behavior, which is just not true. As for me, although it sucks being one nowadays, I believe that I'm a human who's living life and somewhat obsessed with animalistic characters in stories and/or comics and that's it. She suddenly starts saying (very meanly) "YOU CAN'T PLAY WITH THAT BALL. PUT IT DOWN." And it was against the rules to bring outside balls like socker, football, ext. These 2 kids had a spongy ball that could only hurt a ant at best. The mother of the 2 gets pissed instantly and gets them out of the pool. A few minutes later, she is back at it again. This time with the no diving rule. Now, the pool was 4'10 at the deepest end. These 2 kids where not jumping, not diving, but sliding in. This place did not have a slide but you could still get in through the side of the pool. They slid it (graping the edge of the pool for support) and slides in. This karen goes up to them and shouts "YOU CAN NOT DIVE IN THE POOL! >:( IF YOU KEEP THIS UP I WILL HAVE TO KICK YOU OUT!!!!" At this point, I was sick and tired of this. I was about to leave when I saw something that dumb founded. This karen, the one enforcing the rules, BROKE ONE OF THE RULES. No holding your breath under water unless swimming. This was because most older kids there were competitive. And this karen had them play a game to act like an animal. 1st animal, starfish. You had to HOLD your breath under longer for the longest time to win. I left at that point (after really bed stand up comedy). My grandma said later that she got mad at a child for, get this: being in the wrong pool. This kid was around 3'6 and the shallow end of the pool was 3'0 deep. The pool for kids was ABOUT A FOOT AT THE LOWEST. That's it. Sorry for bad grammer and spelling.
