this was my first and only time at MSG. I was 21 years old. I remember being in the nose bleeds, but at a really good angle, so it was a great show. I was chain smoking cigs during the first set, and never really thought twice about it. During set break I stumbled down the stairs and asked a security guard where I could buy more cigs. He said ".... u can't smoke in here...." and I was like oh yea, of course not, never mind.

Yes, he is a cool cat. Always laid back with excellence. I really like this jam here: 02:13:45 He plays it really sweet, light, fluffy and tasteful. 02:17:05 Is really good! But John is not climbing high enough. There was more in the jam moment for sure! Jerry was more on the edge and with a all-in mentality. Most of the time totally "out there" without any safety rope or double floor. Jerry was truly fearless in regards of music and stepped into unknown territory. He showed us a possible future. A freedom and hope that is unheard of to this day. But still John Kadlecik und Jerry really are sound brothers.

I miss this band so much more than I ever thought I would. Phil and Russo are the toughest rhythm section ever, hands down. Bobby's playing was more "Bob" than ever and he could just be him. Why? 'Cause John has all the Jerry action nailed the hell down, the whole way, to the damned floor. Oh, and who's the mad scientist holding things together and then blowing them apart? Jeff, one of the best keys players to ever handle this music. What a fun band, what a song selection they had. There was even an album's worth of originals they never did much with.

Agreed. But true to form, the lemmings all whine and cry when I say so, and condemn anybody that doesn't agree with everything the band does, or did; like little sheep they will support anything the band does. Just like the years of ear-assaulting, off-key screeching by Donna, that always seemed to ruin a perfectly orchestrated masterpiece. I heard the gig on the Sirius/Xm Grateful Dead channel; and that smug bitch Trey really did suck. "Further", I thought, was the best thing they had going; but it's still tough when you don't have a song writing team with brilliance to further the cause of existing.

I've never seen this band and I only heard of them in maybe 2010. I'm sure I was at all MSG shows with Jerry I guess 94'. I never went to anything remotely involved with the Dead. Not really motivated to see them. The only albums I like are the self titled, Anthem, Aox, Bear's Choice, Europe 72', Wake of The Flood, Mars Hotel, Workingman, American Beauty. Maybe the Live Dead one, had that in tape. Terrapin is pushing the limits, but it had it's moments. Everything after that. Nah. I know my friend and I snuck into one of the MSG shows when it was sold out. We got in during the intermission and snuck in under some metal thing. We did get caught at Nassau Collisium *sc but security thanked us and said if it wasn't for people like us they wouldn't have jobs and they just threw us out. We had to climb on our hands and knees threw these big planters and all kinds of cuts and scratches and dirt on us. Everyone saw them dragging us out and we almost made it to the doors I knew were unlocked for fire safety. We were only 4 or 5 seconds off. Fun times. I think we just went to our friends band and smoked some Dust until it was over and we went home.

But when he had the idea to form this band, it was a manipulative effort to get the drummers out of the band and cripple the competition (Dark Star Orchestra). Why the fuck is your name Jerry Garcia when you in fact don't give a fuck about what Bob and Phil have done which his maintain the spirit and legacy of the dead and not letting it die with Jerry. I'm sure you shit on Dead and Co too.

@@thewalleyzone7173 Phil Lesh kept the GD tradition going for a while with Phil and Friends. But when he had the idea to form this band, it was a manipulative effort to get the drummers out of the band and cripple the competition (Dark Star Orchestra). These hired guns can be paid less than original GD members. Is it any surprise the music that came out of this band was sub-par? They sold tickets, they made money, the music sucked. Bob fell into addiction. Phil padded his retirement savings.

Whoever you are your pretty stupid. Go see flatbrim Jerry at nectars and over pay for it. I'm sure you could buy some signed john Mayer speedos for 5 grand. Looks like Vince finally figured out how to copy and paste. It's a computer I know it's difficult LMAO! Furthur was the best representation post Jerry Garcia. Joe Russo is better then both Mickey and Billy combined. Dead and Co is an absolute disgrace and Bob should pack it in or go back to Ratdog at least that was jazzy and heartfelt.

Saw these guys at the Binghamton Arena and I don't know what was more entertaining, the band or the old hippies putting on the floor show!
