Just wanted to double-check: Benmont Tench is the youngest at 68; Russ Kunkel is 73; Leland Sklar, Joe Walsh and Waddy Wachtel are 74; and Richard Starkey is the elder statesman by far, at 81. When it comes to talent, age don't mean a thing!!!

@Spartanm3332 жыл бұрын
@@my-t-mikedaly607 You could say that George Harrison invented this set up 30 years ago in Bob Dylan's kitchen - it was immediate, authentic, a bunch of friends having a jam. They wrote seven songs in seven days and accidentally launched a new super group - The Traveling Wilburys. His presence here would have been interesting, bearing in mind the format and reunited with his old rooming buddy Ringo. Daryl Hall 'borrowed' the 'Wilbury' idea and put it on KZbin, although George didn't do it for celebrity, sponsorship or likes. It was born out of a visit to Bob's house to use his home studio in order to get a song down, friends arriving, jamming together and having a good time. Jim Keltner's drums were his sticks on the kitchen pots and pans. And there was no rehearsal. Oh and he created the guitar part and played lead on this, one of his contributions that inspired The Eagles and just about everyone else: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2XZk32HYrKlgdE

@@timothytimothyarts395 Sorry man but you're way wrong on both accounts. Unless you're a bass player that thinks the bass should be more prominent in the mix then everything else you're wrong, the bass can be heard fine, perfectly in this mix. Also, the most prominent aspect of this song is, and always has been, the guitar and then vocals, even though the bass and drums are phenomenal on the original track too. The guitar makes it funky, and then everyone else adds to the funk. Please get your ears checked if you sincerely can't hear the bass on this. Cheers and take care man.

Amazing that these older men still have the passion for music and despite their age can deliver. Who would have thought that Ringo would still be at it Now!
@s.mcpherson63542 жыл бұрын
I agree with your overall impression, but it makes me think: is it amazing? Or do we just keep thinking that despite the evidence? John Lee Hooker died at 81 and played until then. Fats Domino played into his late 80's, and Check Berry 'left the building' at 90. And now, the stars of the 60's and 70's are playing. Tom Jones currently on tour. Elton John currently on tour. Roger Waters of Pink Floyd on tour. The Eagles on tour. McCartney on tour. The Stones on tour. Springsteen on tour. The young ones are late 60's-early 70's. That evidence, combined with the Led Zeppelin reunion gig concert footage, plus Heart playing for Zeppelin's Presidential Honors, and this hot track, all combine to make a pretty good case that old people are far from past due. In fact, they are often the bedrock performers on which hard rock was founded.
@lockedin602 жыл бұрын
@@s.mcpherson6354 Maybe continuing what that did as young people have made them maintain there chops. There are many non-musicians whose physical wellbeing is questionable and they are just barely existing. I think these musicians are the exceptions for their age not the rule. There are a few other musicians who are not as active as these and are struggling to maintain any semblance of balance in their lives. I am not that far behind 67.
@s.mcpherson63542 жыл бұрын
@@lockedin60Yes, I agree that the creativity and exercise involved in playing do contribute to people's longevity in music. But as for them being the exceptions: please don't think I'm suggesting you should change your opinion. I'm just adding that in my own experience as a musician, I've played all my life with people in their 70's, and 80's and 90's sometimes too--and they all had real chops because they'd played their whole lives. Unless they were the percentage who got arthritis or something, there's nothing stopping them. At 95, Pablo Casals was one of the best cellists in the world, yet he practiced 6 hours per day. When people asked him why, he said, "Because I'm making progress." In addition, if you look at the 60's and 70's videos being reacted to on these channels, lots of those musicians are still playing, they're just doing casinos or Vegas, not stadiums. And in the backgrounds, in concerts for younger artists, look at how often the members of the backup band are 60+. For major acts, it's a lot of them. No one really stops playing music until their bodies won't let them due to disease, not age. And after 50 or 60 years of playing these people are like athletes. Doing tours was never easy. They all had to be in pretty decent shape or it was hard. So I suspect that if you watch the background bands for songs you see reacted to on KZbin, you'll see a lot of grey hair storming up and down the instruments. Good chatting with you. Have yourself a good day.
