Some people don't like army tactic mistakes but I think the gritty scenario and other well done scenes outweigh the ''mistakes'', like showing a kid with panzerfaust which was a real thing and what a kid can do to a tank in matter of seconds

I’ve seen many, many movies in my 58 years, but there’s something extremely special about these actors playing these characters. So convincing with their roles, I can’t help but think of them from now on as the crew of “Fury.” There’s just something very spiritual about their chemistry and the story they told. Still brings tears to my eyes when they stood their ground, taking on the SS, knowing they would all die for doing so. My grandfather was a gunner in an M-4 Sherman under General Patton's command from Tunisia to the battle of the Bulge. He fought in 11 major battles. My late father, who was 101st Airborne in the Korean War, never spoke much of his father other than he would come around broke needing to borrow money for booze. It is unimaginable the things WWII tank crews went through. Fury is the closest movie that I have seen that depicts the cohesive bond that must create itself in the worst of times. My father watched this movie and was very quiet for a long time. Then he said, "That's what War is about. "

I do miss Ft. Benning and the whole state of GA. Made alot of good friends and brothers there. I still had a strong accent back then and didn't understand alot of my friends lingo but they made me one of them and made me feel at home amongst them.

Anyways, I switched over brother, went to college and I am an officer now. Watched the video again and I saw some privates... standing around looking awkward of course! In any case, my perspective about things has changed and I have since been humbled by my time in service. Hope you have a similar experience, I'm much happier now that I'm not a crusty old veteran! I'm not a troll. I'm pointing out the influence movies, and media in general have on how people may act. It's very easy to misdirect people in extreme situations. Not to take anything away from people's own personal resposibility, but I agree with Aldous Huxley that 60 % of humanity is instantly suggestible. In the Army I think this number is even higher, because people are selected on how good they follow orders, and how much they believe in the organisation. And off cause if Brad Pit plays in it, then it must be good or at least acceptable. I don't think a troll would reply in this way.

+ookiemand are you in the military? if no, then you have no clue on the main reasons a person is accepted, following orders actually isn't a main point, though its still there. the main points are, mental toughness, cooperation and teamwork, helping the man beside you, intelligence (yes, despite what many people think, sadly some idiots get through), and just you're capability in high stress situations. hell, I have cousins in army infantry now who say most of the higher up guys say "you ain't got to listen to everyorder, if its fucked up, don't listen to it"
