WOW that's a new trick for me, cavalry attacking the enemy, ride up to them climb off their horse and begin to fight instead of from horseback, never thought of that. Suppose the horses were only to save the soldiers from wasting energy, running at the enemy. I suppose they were just mounted infantry and not actual cavalry, would explain why they attacked a walled city, must have rode up to the walls and climb up on the horse's back, to get over the walls.,(who needs scaling ladders and siege towers). And as for catapults or trebuchets(probably a bit early for these), I know a wooden horse or two.

Achilles and the Myrmidons shouted "Fthia" ...a War Cry ..... Fthia was their homeland roughly about the same place as today's municipallity of Fthiotis.....it's center about 12 miles from Thermopylae where Leonidas fought the Persians and about 90 miles from the port of Avlida (Avlis)...from where the 1000 ship's Greek fleet commenced it's journey towards Troy...my mom took me to see this movie at the age of 6....it is more accurate to Homer's Iliad than Hollywood"s Troy
