Still in use. With a few upgrades, the US Army adopted it as the MG60 light machine gun. I think it's considered a light MG. Anyway, spits out a lotta lead in a short time.

Those are outrageous fight seens. The trick is, they dont come close to the reality of a real fire fight. Nevertheless, it shows how a few can kickass, when they fight to save eachother. The key is, that one can freely, when U have accepted the reality that death is near. Western culture teaches that life is to be protected and preserved at all costs. Eastern and Middle Eastern cultures, are taught that life is most valuable when given up freely, for some particular cause or person. Like the Samurai, they know their life will end at any moment. So rather than dwelling on death, they let go of any fear, and are taught to enjoy life, with reading and writing poems.

That's my blessed country Ethiopia ( the black lion nations country) for example Ethiopians heroes fought and defeated it's major enemy Egypt three times at the battles of Gura, Gundet and hiwot treaty!! I think Star Wars took the look of its blaster fire from descriptions of WWII tracer fire. I recall reading a soldier's memoir that American tracer fire was red and German was green and the intersecting fire during a night fight created a fascinating, although very deadly, light show.

The Tiger scene was somewhat unrealistic- at that range the 76 mm Sherman could penetrate it from any direction, front, side, or rear. The Firefly version with the 17 lbr could destroy the Tiger at much longer range. Joe Eakins killed 3 Tigers, including Michael Wittman's in a single engagement. Later Shermans had main gun stabilization plus a much faster power turret traverse. Tiger was state of the art in 1942, by '44 it was just another heavy tank.

Der TIGER war auch 1944/45 eine gefürchtete Panzerwaffe! Treibstoff war fast nicht mehr verfügbar und die Lufthoheit der Alliierten tat ihr übriges. Ich bin Österreicher und gedenke jedes Jahr ganz bewusst an den D-Day, da begann die Befreiung von den Nazis! Diese Soldaten gaben ihr Leben, dass heute Frieden in Europa (bis auf die Ukraine) herrscht!

Children and an 88mm panzerfaust. And they died in the act. What horror to think that children can (and were) sent out on what was a senseless and suicidal mission. It's just a movie, but my late uncle, who served in a US Armored Division said he saw many bodies of young Hitler youth who fought bravely and died just the same.

In real life, those Sherman's are dead. There's no way a Sherman tank going to take out a tiger. 2 Sherman's 3, 4 5, 6 and you mite have a chance to get behind them. And why would they come out of hiding. That 88 will take out anything!!! This is just a movie. My dad was there for real. 2nd armored division, Hell on Wheels ( which is missing from under the 2nd armored division patch) 3rd army, which is also missing. Sad these movies don't show the real horror of war. People believe what they told, ( fake Corona pandemic, ect. )

The Tiger was well armoured and had a better gun. But it was expensive and difficult to produce and mechanically unreliable. The Germans DID surrender in May 1945 unconditionally.
