So what do you do with plants/ baskets in Southern Mn?

It's not easy.what i understand is that cold weather folks allow the fuchsias to go sort of dormant, cut back the excess foliage and store the in the Basement, the garage or somewhere like that and then as soon as all danger of frost is past bring them out and start them regrowing. i have heard that in cold places like MN they actually bring geraniums in and hang them upside down in the basement and then bring them out in the spring. Is tht true? No California Geranium would stand for that! I brought in my Mandevilla/Dipladenia inside my house one winter to experiment. It took it but even in my sunny window it was not that happy. One interesting thing that I/we need to remember when we do a video is that we use words that mean something to us but to the novice gardener are a mystery. We say 'Pinch' or Tip cutting or Soft Tip and assume you all understand. Thanks for writing. Evelyn

Wish I lived in Southern California! Here in New England, I have to overwinter my fuchsias in the basement, where they go into hibernation until spring. When I lived in Germany, where we treat fuchsias & gernaniums as tender perennials, I had great luck overwintering my plants. Not here in New Hampshire! Maybe it's time to move!
