Great video it's a shame what happened with Tim Gaines and Stryper in regards to what he was saying halfway through about bands breaking up that that would have happened with them regarding Timothy Gaines and them and all the dirty laundry that unfortunately came out. That said it's always fascinating to see people talk about their passions and they just play together c:
@ronaldshank75895 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, Tim Gaines was in and out of Stryper at least four times. What's with Ol' Timmy-boy? He never seemed to be truly satisfied being in Stryper. At least, it sure seemed that way. After Stryper finished touring in support of their Fallen album (2015), Tim Gaines left the band, in a rather ugly way. Stryper cut ties with Tim permanently...or so I gather. Perry Richardson, formerly of the band Firehouse, joined Stryper as their new Bassist back almost 2 years ago now, and Stryper seems to be back to running on all cylinders again.

They played some kind of festival together and for the sit down interviews, they put KD right next to Stryper and they got along quite well with him. Speaking of bands letting people go-The very next year, Stryper (Michael Sweet, Robert Sweet, & Oz Fox), parted ways with Their original Bass Guitarist, Tim Gaines. That happened in 2017. It was one of those he said/they said kind of things. Tim had been in and out of the band 4 times! He could play and sing, but he seems to have caused a lot of problems, so the guys in Stryper gave him some sort of ultimatum, and, instead of responding to that the way that they'd of hoped that he would, he left the band! Enter Perry Richardson, formerly of the band Firehouse. He seems to be happy being in Stryper. Let's see what happens.

Tim.....hard to say where he was at, when he left the band in 2017, or whenever it was. He then pretty much trashed Stryper, for whatever reason. He's been in and out of Stryper at least 4 times, and my guess is, Stryper finally got tired of his attitude, and told him "Dude, if you're gonna go back to causing problems, kick rocks"! "Get out, and stay out"! So, he left. Stryper has moved on...and the rest is history.

Why are Christians so uptight. Talking about people in the comments not Micheal Sweet.. So what if he said they they are a rock band made up of christians.. To see that its upset you so much and made byou waste your energy being upset .. Well its disheartening.. Christ was a man who by some accounts passed no judgements and gave unconditional love, yet almost every christian thats commenting on youtube finds something to hate and njudge people.. I think Micheal said it correctly .

That's why I think religion is the down fail of humanity. It separates us instead of uniting us!!! People are so quick to judge and are most of the time quite snobby towards things that they don't fully understand, or that is a bit different from what they are use to.
@jimjambananaslam35965 жыл бұрын
@@ericwilliams7374 It's actually pretty simple, most of the problems caused by religion are due to the fact that religion and politics do not mix. Religion should be more of a personal thing, and it's so easy for someone to have a following of people who fundamentally believe the same thing, and then manipulate them for some ulterior motive. You can read the works of a philosopher and interpret them the way you want, but if you take a philosophy class, it's the teacher that tells you what the philosopher meant.

I know what you're trying to say but I would disagree with the part that he hasn't written memorable stuff. He does his job perfectly for Testament and if you listen to Planetary Coalition it blows you away. Also you can just as easily claim that mainstream pop is great because it's memorable.

Michael talking about leaving in 1992 for family reasons....come on let's be serious...there was no demand for Stryper....if they had continued making albums in the 90's they would have met the same fate as all those other bands that tried and failed to sell - I am talking about Warrant, Slaughter, not enough people would have bought a Stryper album in 1992 or beyond. Stryper's last album in 1990 was a financial disaster. Their record label (Enigma) went bankrupt because the album didn't sell.
@ronaldshank75895 жыл бұрын
I think that album, at least initially, sold between 300,000-500,000 copies. Stryper had become so compromised at that point, that they tried relying on a style of music that fell on deaf ears. Pop Metal was going out of style, and by mid to late 1991, it was all but dead. People were tired of the same old drek, and then-Alternative came along, and killed the Pop Metal Movement, once and for all! Only a comparative few Pop Metal bands had any kind of gold album sales. Motley Crue had a self-entitled album that went gold in 1994. Poison's album, Native Blood, went gold in 1993, and Tesla had an album that, surprising, went gold in 1994. Other than that, that was about it. Oops! I almost forgot:Kiss had an album called Revenge in 1992 that went gold. Those are the only exceptions to the rule that I can think of, right off-hand. Other than that, every time that Pop Metal tried to revive itself, there was more Alternative and Grunge to stomp it back into the ground! Bye bye, Pop Metal!!!!!
@ronaldshank75895 жыл бұрын
@@atd6374 Thanks! I just do my best to tell it like it is. Nowadays, when any of the older bands even make an album, it seems to possibly do well. For the first week after it's release, it may appear on the Billboard top 200 albums chart. After that, it seems to drop off the charts rather quickly (Unless it's Metallica, or another very well-established band of some other Genre!), & in some cases, people even forget who put out what after awhile. It's pathetic! I remember when Stryper released Reborn in 2005. I expected this major comeback, saleswise...and it basically went nowhere! I loved the album, and thought it was the heaviest & best album since 1985s Soldiers Under Command album. Reborn sold less than 120,000 copies initially. There were problems on 2 different fronts, concerning Reborn. 1:A Nu Metal style was used on the album, that comparitively few people even liked. 2:The album design was something that, for some strange reason, people objected to. Since then, Stryper has released several albums. Murder By Pride (2009), No More Hell To Pay, and Second Coming (2013), Fallen (2015), & God Damn Evil (2018). The very title of the last one threw people for a MAJOR loop, and, as a result, album sales for that album apoeared to have dropped way off, entering the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart at No. 77. I admit it:I'm so tired of Stryper beating the proverbial "Dead Horse"! I'm done with it! People nowadays say that each Stryper Album is, if you will, an improvement over the last one. Come on!!! Stryper keep using the same, dated forum that cost them their careers a long time ago! I think I see now why Tim Gaines is no longer with Stryper. Could it be that he got tired of the same old same old, album after album? Michael Sweet needs to quit trying to beat the proverbial "Dead Horse", and find something else to do with his life! I think that even his brother, Robert, might just be about worn out with his brothers massive ego! I'm long in my text...my bad, but enough is enough! Pop Metal died a long time ago. Let it rest in peace, because it was never true metal anyway!!!!!

Removing the "Isaiah 53:5" from the bands name could help with dropping the "Christian band" thing...

No way dude, I am an atheist and I respect Stryper for expressing a religious opinion and just sticking with it despite the hate.

Did you even what the video...he expressed his exasperation for being labeled a "Christian" band.

Yea, and I am saying that they should keep rocking for Christ. Just cause it makes some people mad ;)

Have you ever listened to alexs's music and im not just referring to his work with testament which is a great example of how talented he is even when he was younger. The guy isn't your average run of the mill shredder even back in the late 80s early 90s it was apparent he possessed a lot of things his peers didn't. knows his shit

I saw him playing Jazz after he left Testament, and the guy is simply amazing.

Michael’s very superficial interaction is a disappointment. ....but as Geddy sings : “Can’t pretend a stranger”,... “Is a long awaited friend “
