Hi Tabitha love your stuff and hope you see this, watching your vid just now and got to the bit where you said when cutting your canes and how they fly everywhere, this is what you should do, buy a nice clear storage box cut or melt two hand holes through the sides and then cut your canes inside it, am a tech at cardiffmet and always have health and safety on my mind and good glass techniques too, love your stuff martin morgan.

Tabitha what would your suggested firing schedule if you wanted to keep your glass textured, on the out side of a bowl? thank you 4/2022
@TabithasGlassEmporium2 жыл бұрын
There is a Firing Schedule I used at the end of the video, at about 22:40. If you are wanting to keep the texture on the outside of a bowl, then I would suggest Draping instead of Slumping the project. I have used the metal bowls from Ikea covered with 1mm Fiber Paper and was happy with the results.

I'd love to know the schedule for a "light" tack fuse. Thank you.

Hi Kathy, you can find a firing schedule at the end of this video, forward to 22:41 minutes 😊

I know you sell your stringers, etc. but is there something else we could use or a way to easily make the curved stringers? Some of us are on a tight budget.
@TabithasGlassEmporium2 жыл бұрын
It is hard to get an organic feel with glass. Maybe try glass paints, or enamels, to draw the grass on, or try bending straight stringers on a candle.

Newbie here - I recently received my order and have been playing with some of your ideas on my own. I would love to watch the landscape video you recomment by AE? That does not show up in a search does it stand for something? or perhaps you have a link you could share. I hope it is okay to ask that kind of thing here ....Thank you for all your wonderful videos, the are a great jumping off point.

It's AEE Glass, you can go to their channel a search for a thing that you're interested in. Join us on Facebook if you want to be part of our glass community which is especially good for newbies. Happy fusing 🙂

Hi Tabitha! I have a rather large order pending and there is a spot for a 'coupon'. Would you have one I can use?
@TabithasGlassEmporium2 жыл бұрын
Hi Diane, thank you for your order. The spot for coupons is when we have free shipping offers and similar. We don't have any offers available at them moment. If you keep an eye out on our social media, that's where we promote all of our offers.

You are an inspiration. As a total beginner what must haves would you suggest?
@TabithasGlassEmporium5 жыл бұрын
Angelia Hansen it’s hard to say, I bought too much and now lots I don’t use like I have too many slumping mounds I don’t use, so I would say take your time, look on groups and eBay for 2nd hand stuff. Just get some off cuts of glass from you local glazing shop and practice in that, they will normally give it for free. I would get some powder frit and have a go with that. Watch KZbin, get books, decided what you want to try and make and get enough to make that, you will always have some left over but not so much, than so on and so forth
@TabithasGlassEmporium5 жыл бұрын
I hope that helps

I'm not sure what low tac fuse means. Is it the temp or the speed of the firing?
@TabithasGlassEmporium3 жыл бұрын
It’s the temperature, tack fuse is around 750oC low can be 720-730iC but it’s all very kiln dependant. Please note these temperature are in centigrade
