I love hyacinths, they're one of my favorite spring flowers! I have never thought of doing them this way. I think I found my project for fun tonight. One thing I've learned when you want to cut up a set of strips with cross pieces, is do your long lines on one side of the glass, and then flip it and do the cross lines on the other side. Keeps it from trying to jump to a cross line when you're doing long lines.

This is awesome! And no need for lamp work for the petals. What did you use for your garden stick? It looks like some wire that you cut and shaped?
@pjsglasscreations354 Жыл бұрын
It is aluminum wire. See my other video on what to make with glass flowers - kzbin.info/www/bejne/fZOme4ikird-gqM. I discuss the wire there.

Hi, Love this. I tried it but my petals did not form at 1500 degrees. Should I refire them at the same temp?
@pjsglasscreations3548 ай бұрын
I've never had a problem with them forming, but each kiln is different. Either go up 10º or fire for 10 minutes longer. At the top temp you can open your kiln without a chance of thermal shocking the glass, so take a quick peek to see if the petals are how you want them to be. If not, adjust accordingly.

If I wanted to make smaller petals, what length and width should I use when cutting the strips?
@pjsglasscreations3548 ай бұрын
I don't think it really matters how small or large the pieces are, as long as they are a triangle.

hi I cut all the shapes and used your schedule for firing, I use COE 96 and nothing happen, any thoughts? any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance, MIGUEL
@pjsglasscreations354 Жыл бұрын
I don't work with 96COE glass so I can't tell you an exact schedule, but if the petals for the hyacinths did not round up you need to go hotter and/or longer until the edges round. At that high of a temperature you can carefully open the kiln (protect your arms and eyes) to peek and see if the pieces are rounded,.
