Nice project, good idea for using up scrap, when you make as much as I do, it’s important! When I make a backing sheet from more than one piece of glass I put a couple of dabs of super glue on the kiln paper to keep them together. It disappears during the firing and saves my clumsy hands from moving them about. Your hands are so steady and sure, I wish mine were like that.👏🏻👏🏻

Ghislaine, you are a VERY good instructor! As a new fuser (and I mean a fledgling beginner!) I really appreciate how you don't assume that everyone knows what you're process is, that you actually take a minute to explain what you're doing. That is so very helpful. I appreciate the firing schedule posted on the screen too. Maybe you could also post it in the description as well. Also, I did see another artist, who uses liquid hairspray too, use a heat gun on a low setting hovered above his piece to help dry the hairspray within a few minutes, then off to the kiln. (I'm sure a hairdryer would probably work too) That way he didn't have to wait overnight before heading to the kiln. I know patience is a virtue but you make such pretty things, a time saver like that might help you too! :) I'm getting ready to make (attempt, lol) a fish logo that has a bony skeleton front half of the fish body and a coral branch back half of the fish body. I've never made anything like that before (again, Newbie) but you give me the courage to try! Thanks :)

Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm still learning as well. Thanks for the tip on the heat gun. A hair dryer might blow away the frit! I don't mind letting it sit overnight because most of the time I work on my projects in the evening and I don't run the kiln during the night. I work in my house so I'm not quite comfortable having a blazing oven on while we're sleeping! (Although I'm sure it's fine, I'm still paranoid!) Good luck on your project, it sounds really cool! I'd love to see it when it's done.
