With Ethereum it seems like there can be groups who can hold stakes that are sufficiently more than the amount of 51% Ether for the purposes of bad acting. Equally, Bitcoin mining has become relegated to those who have the funds to afford the machinery required to compete. It always becomes a battle reducing the amount of power players to the point of centralized power brokering. I tend to lean towards the time based chain verification because it does not have the reduction of decentralization over time that the other two have. As far as reliability and uptime goes, this is important, but not as important as ensuring the power remains decentralized.

I actually think Ether will generally be okay with Proof of Stake. others i am lot more concerned about. but doesnt time basd require the chain to be permissioned ?

Love your stuff and have enjoyed using your tools. My question that is still kicking around that I would love your opinion on, "why make a game on the blockchain?" I get the whole distributed ledger aspect of trading things, but where blockchain fits in to game dev doesn't make sense to me. It sounds like it is just "build a game and use blockchain for saved states of my stuff that isn't controlled by any one person/group."

basically yes and a decentralized payment system. imagine distributing games without having to pay a 30% store fee
