My chemistry teacher kind of rushed over the beginning of electrochemistry and electrolysis so when he moved on I was still confused about the structure of the beaker and power supply and why the ions flowed the way they did. Hello! I am a Chemistry teacher and I was looking for interesting videos to show to my lecture group next week. I know FuseSchool channel is one of the best out there! For this particular video, I noticed a tiny error at around 2:14 min. The battery is placed the wrong way around with respect to the movement of electrons. (Same animation mistake at 5th minute) The battery is correct at 3:30min though. :-) Thanks again for a great video!

Perhaps consider the equations: and the relationship a charge has to an electric field as a mass to an acceleration field (both equations have the same form and were created by Albert Einstein see the charge - distance, and the mass - distance business. 'Charge' does not exist just like mass does not exist. Charge is introduced to an electric field and a force V is caused or appears somehow. Just as mass is introduced to an acceleration field and force F is caused or appears somehow. Electrical force and mechanical force are the only things we can sense or perceive they exist. Otherwise mass has no effect and charfe has no effect and we will never know they were there - hence their 'non existence'. Electrons exist. These little ( - ) charged particles flow as they are FORCED to flow by the charge/ electric field product; force (V). Electrons are particles from the mass/acceleration field business. great video but you made a mistake at 2:16 when you stated that the left electrode is positively charged and the left negatively. It was supposed to be vice versa due to the left electrode being connected to the negative terminal and the right electrode being connected to the positive terminal. Also, I'm pretty sure electrons move the opposite way of current as current flows from positive to negative while electrons flow towards positive.

I think in the animation at 2:21 the cell should have been placed in reverse manner, because in the wires the electrons move from negative terminal to positive terminal whereas in a battery they should move from positive terminal to negative terminal, that means you have given the wrong depiction
