Thank you for sharing. Just started to learn this and it is frustrating. Your video is one of the best I have watched.

Thanks for sharing! At about the 43:00 mark, instead of guessing, you can use the Calibrate tool for getting the canvas really close to exact. Also, using points that are as far as possible apart, will increase accuracy. For example using the two holes that are 5.25" apart, instead of the holes that are 3" apart. Very powerful once you leverage this. I have taken photos of complicated parts including a measuring tape for calibrating. Makes modeling pretty straight forward to get all the curves and basic geometry. At 54:00 good tip for creating pierce points for post production machine work.

I was about to mention the same thing about calibrating the canvas. It's in the dropdown menu of the canvas tab.

Like your video , thought it sounded like a dog walking in the background because I have two on a wood floor that sound the same. I don’t know whether you knew it but Lang Mark had somebody come up with a piercing only placement I haven’t tried it yet. One thing that would help me out is a larger cursor or I have seen one guy used a red ring around the cursor it’s easier to follow sometimes I can’t see.

I use splines almost every day and export as DXF. Sheetcam has no problem seeing them?
@BareMetalFabrication Жыл бұрын
Sheetcam sees them I think but inkscape does not. There’s few other programs that don’t import them well but I can’t remember them off the top of my head.
@p.t.anderson1593 Жыл бұрын
FWIW - Using splines usually seems to create a bazillion lines of code and huge .nc files. I avoid them whenever possible. The three point arc works really well instead.

Easier way is using slots and extruding them for straight ones. Splines, arcs, circles then pipe>square, join for the custom ones.
