Just a tip on your print settings. If you increase you're extrusion width from 0.4 to 0.6, you'll get the same benefit as your current settings without the over extrusion at the bottom. Do a smaller test print first though because it may require the flow multiplier to be increased a little above 100 to compensate for the increased pressure in the nozzle (otherwise you might get underextrusion, but only in the base. Excellent tutorial though. I consider myself to be an expert with Fusion 360 but I've never used the forms/t-spline mode at all. This is the best tutorial I've found for it yet.

@@Atlas_Redux Studies done by Harvard and the University of Michigan found that people who correct spelling and grammar on the internet tend to be both below average intelligence, and have significantly higher than average levels of narcissism, sociopathy, and psycopathy. @@Chris-hn4lp I wasn't wondering. Also, I have taken three separate Mensa-approved tests in the Norwegian Armed Forces, Artillery, over the years. My average was a clean even 150. 57 Lunder, over and out.

Just great dissertation on the 3DP vase through the sculpt environment. I had no idea you could pattern like that. But I must say with the new UI Preview, it is a little confusing to replicate what you are doing here. I am trying to learn how it is possible to generate abstract organic designs for CNC Router - 2.5D :-)

Can you adjust wall thickness in Fusion 360 or you have to do it in the slicer?

How can I make the bottom of my vase smooth like yours at 10:14? Fusion keeps all of my points instead of making a circle. Thanks for your help!

Thank you for the tutorial! I made a vase in Fusion 360 but when I import the model into Cura, Cura complains that the STL is non-manifold. Did I miss a step? I'm not that experienced at the 360 sculpt environment.

Here's an explanation of non-manifold mesh and how to resolve them: 3dprintingninja.blogspot.com/2014/07/non-manifolds-your-worst-nightmare.html When I run into it, it's usually due to intersecting mesh.

So how do you like the newest UI for F360? I don't know if you get the Autodesk Fusion 360 vids. Lots of reasons why. I tried to do this twisted vase again with it and was a "little" confused. Doing a test print right now...... :P Still doing the tie dye thing?

Honestly - I haven't even touched Fusion in at least 5 months. So, I guess I should login and see what they've done with it? Yes - still doing the tie dye thing. I publish a new tie dye video every Saturday. I'm also doing woodworking, epoxy, and lathe (primarily rings at this point) videos and publishing those every Tuesday/Wednesday. I'll be adding in some pen making videos within the next couple of months. So, the 3D printers have been sitting dormant for the past few months as I've geared up with the lathe, woodworking, metalworking, etc. stuff.

@@CasualCollisions That sounds like a very creative shop. I just ordered a 2' x 4' CNC Router to get my creative bent sorted. Not a whim. Three years in the making. Small but still easy to begin with. The list of software that one may bring to that end is huge. And the $ for some is !!! Thank god for Open Source and Free Learning curve to surmount - appalling. Must compartmentalize and keep the blinders on. I am 63 and trying to pretend I don't notice the weight of it :-) By all means do take a look at the new GUI. You may go to "preferences" and revert back if you like but only for so long. Nothing like diving in!

How do you adjust thickness or what do you do if you want to fill it?
@CasualCollisions
@CasualCollisions 2 жыл бұрын
The only thickness adjustment would be that of changing the printer nozzle to a larger size.

i use fusion 360 to make a flower vase but the water leaks not sure why because is 2mm thick
@CasualCollisions
@CasualCollisions 6 жыл бұрын
Some filaments work better than others and the slicer settings can make a huge difference in the final results. With that said, I'd say about 75% of the vases I print will hold water and the remaining 25% need a couple of thin coats of clear spray paint to seal up the microscopic areas that are weeping.

Unfortunately, quite a bit has changed with Fusion 360 over the past five years since the video was recorded. I haven't kept up with Fusion for at least the past year so I'm not sure what commands have changed since the video was created.
