Easier way than offsetting and connecting the sketch -= just use "thin wall extrude" on the single line sketch.

Hello! I totally agree with you, but this tutorial was made for beginners to have a stronger foundation.

if i use a 3d printer does it make a diffrence if i add the red

Hello! The answer is absolutely no. Even though the tutorial has several months from posting, I printed it one week ago and I printed it blue because my PLA cable was blue. Just flip it on the other side to print better.
