This has always been a problem even from my Creo days. I usually draw the 1st line, dimension it, then continue to draw my rough sketch. This is very helpful. Thanks Matt.

Very useful, thank you. I haven't played with or even looked at a lot of those preference settings before so these are great tips.

Great tip. You are the Leonardo Da Vinci of Fusion 360. Wish you lived closer to me so you could help me with my project. I've only managed to get as far as I have because of your tutorials.

Whats your project spyros?

I'm trying to design an amphibious gyroplane. I have a clear picture in my head of how I want it to look. Unfortunately I don't have the artistic skill to make a drawing on paper and I'm just beginning to grasp the basics of sculpting in Fusion 360. Needless to say, I'm absolutely certain there would be a demand for such an aircraft apart from myself.

i've heard of amphibious gyrocopters, but can't say I have ever heard gyroplane. is it the same thing?
@spyrosspyrou58092 жыл бұрын
Yes it is. Americans call them gyrocopters but they are exactly the same thing.

if you can even roughly sketch something out I will do my best to help you figure out how to make the shape.

wow, game changer!!! Do you have any other settings changes that should be a "must have"?
@LearnEverythingAboutDesign2 жыл бұрын
Dan, i typically don't edit any settings as I like to have my install the same as anyone who just installed Fusion, but let me think on how to cover some of these.

imo it should be added when you importing dxf or placed in Sketch Palette. Anyway great work.

This used to be very useful, unfortunately they combined it with auto zoom so now if your sketch includes any projected geometry that's larger than the part you're trying to sketch Fusion will zoom to fit the whole sketch. The auto zoom feature was really not though out, works OK if you have one component or a small assembly but useless on large assemblies and totally ruins the auto scale feature.😞

Mark you are 100% correct! For me i actually don't leave this on anymore but it is helpful on the first sketch. Once you have some size reference it is much easier. One pain point is not having hotkeys to customize for zoom window and zoom fit. Sad thing is there is an option to zoom to a single body/component. If you right click on it in the browser and do "Find in window" it will fit that body/comp to view and ignore the rest. So its under the hood just locked away.
