For the rib sketch, it is actually not necessary to snap to the boss. The project->intersect step could have been skipped. If you terminate the line away from the boss, the rib command would automatically extend the wall to the boss. Also, you can simply draw the line through the boss and perform a cut to remove the excess from the boss hole. Happy Lunar New Year to all viewers who celebrate! Wish you all good health in the year of the dragon!

Sensational! I've never used some of these tools - Web, rib, intersection... Thank you!

Thanks! There's a great tip in every video! Instead of using a sketch and splitting the body for the area in front of the tunnel you could also do a press/pull of the vertical face.

I found that at 4:48, to make life easier, you can use the extrude command and for extend, select "to object", and from there select the correct face.

I've been using Fusion 360 design and manufacturing spaces for 5 years... and I still learned a few tricks: the look-at and the section view options in the Sketch dialog, and not having to fully extend the rib sketch. Nice tutorial.

A clean video as always 👌🏾 just a quick question re the rib: what is the benefit of using the rib command as opposed to just thin extruding the profile? Surely with thin extrude you could have any curve without necessarily having a horizontal and vertical start/finish and also extrude both sides at once? I can't remember but i would imagine there is a "to object" extent type.

With thin extrude, you can only "thicken" along the sketch plane.
@Fusion360School11 ай бұрын
To add on, a thin extrude would be possible if the rib is just a horizontal straight line through the boss. In that case, the sketch would need to be performed on a sketch plane parallel to the top plane. But there would still be a limitation as the thin extrude would not be able to conform to the cylindrical face of the boss.

Good afternoon, an excellent video, but I need your help. When I use the web command to circle, the command takes the trajectory of the web towards the x or y axis, not the vertical one, which would be the z axis, which is the one in the example, and an error appears. . Also, I don't have all the commands that appear in your video in the web command. can help me thank you
