Great tutorial with a lot of little tips besides main topic, which is very interesting and useful. Thanks! I had to go to one of your other videos to see how to do the arc with line tool, though. That was a mystery.

So, coincidentally, there are TWO different intersect commands being used here. In the Sketch environment, Project/Include-->Intersect. In the Solid environment, Extrude-->Intersect. Might be confusing to someone just starting out. (IMO, Autodesk should one day consider cleaning up its terminology.)

Thought this is what I needed :( I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to have fusion adjust interfacing/locking parts so they have the proper reliefe points. Example: I'm trying to make two parts simply fit into eachother (aka, insert rod A into slot B type deal). When I design this as I think I want it then print it, the parts that are supposed to mate up come out the exact same size those cancling eachother out. What is that type of pressure fitting called? and is Fusion capable of doing this automatically or do I have to manually do all of that?

Porsche Duésnburg I believe you are looking for the Combine command using the subtract option. Send me an email to info@mechanicaladvantage.com if you need to and I think we can get your question answered.

how did you sweep that arc like that?
@robbystanley2002
@robbystanley2002 5 жыл бұрын
i was wondering that too. after trying it a few times, here's what i've got. 1. click "L" to start a line. 2. L click where you want first point. 3. L click where you want second point of first line. 4. hold L mouse button while moving cursor to the spot where you want the end of the arc to be. it's key that you hold the mouse button down while moving. 5. release mouse button to place end point of arc. this does take a bit of practice on steps 4 and 5 to get right.

it is much easier to construct that only by using offset planes

This was only an EXAMPLE. You can create complex but easy to understand geometries using intersect operations.

Michael S would have been better to show an example of something you can’t just sketch so simply... I’m still a bit confused on what it actually does.
