great content, bro! I'm a mechanical engineer in a Brazilian drone-delivery startup and we`re this question right now. We were using Solid Edge because we got 1-year free for 3 licenses, which is amazing, but now we need to chose the right one thinking long term

Yea I started with SolidEdge back in school, though I haven't used it in years. Yea. I can see where that is a serious question to figure out. specially for a company. What do you guys 3D model for? the actual drone designs?

For Solidworks the annual subscription back log will be charged up to the price of a new license. So if you wait 10 years and the back log would be more than a license, they just charge you for a new license and not the back log.

That makes sense. I think the sales rep I was talking to probable said that and I miss understood. Thanks for the clarification.

What's your take on the f360 personal vs the new sw maker license of $99 yr?

This is an amazing question... To be honest, I had not even heard about this till I saw you comment. I am currently in the process of moving overseas. As such I have A LOT of time to kill, but am working on getting things set up (including my recording stuff). I'll try and do a deep dive in the next week or so and hopeful get a video on this after I have time to pick through what this offer really is . I'm very curious, and excited.

Also what are you wanting to 3D modeling Mark? That way I can get you a personalized answer too.

I want to use a CAD for 3d printing parts and making lures by reverse engineering via images. I currently use simple programs such as tinkercad and sketchup. I'm starting the lure making now and this is the reason I'm looking into it. Fusion personal has a 10 file/projects limit. Otherwise the basic license Is currently available for 350/yr. Not entirely sure what limitations are with SW. I'm open to any CAD that will allow me to construct from images and easily produce the curves necessary for lure making. Thanks for your considerations.

@@markdalton3834 yea. I'll keep that in mind as I am tinkering with this new solid works option. I love the idea of 3D printing lures. definitely a cool application.

Great channel. Just subbed. I’m a hobbyist of plastic model car building and want to learn designing for 3D printing my own parts and maybe even sell my the products in the future like fellow modelers. Trying to figure what program to choose between these two and your channel and information is great. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks for sharing I’ll click on your notifications bell as well.

Thanks Jorge. Yea. I have worked with both programs for a number of years now, and they both very good programs with different pros and cons. I'm planning on doing some more comparison vids in the near future. Planning on posted one on Surfacing this week. If I don't have a video answering a question you have, feel free to message me

Really enjoying your videos and appreciate your communication skills. Paid vs. Payed, had to look it up to be sure. According to google payed is a nautical term that has something to do with paying a rope, I'm not sure what that means. Keep making the awesome videos bro!
