Fusion 360 Web Browser Tutorial (Autodesk's best kept secret)

In this video Aaron uses web based CAD to design and 3D print a plastic knob to replace the broken one on his drill press quill handle. The entire project was designed via the web / browser based CAD known as A360 Fusion.

Chrome also support GPU acceleration (if you have one or more) that seems to help with latency. It is a check box in Chrome settings. Nice one Aaron!

Great vid Aaron, always nice to see F360 featuring again. My Boxford 125TCL rebuild is now finished and the 260VMC is about a month away, i'll send you some pics when complete. After that I will be able to concentrate full time on F360, as the old adage says, if you dont use it you lose it!

Hello, I made this video many years ago now. Sadly Autodesk canned this web browser option and it's no longer available. Fusion will work on PC, Mac and Chromebook. However, there are apps available for Fusion but this only allows you to view the models and not create or edit. Cheers, Aaron

I want to ask here, Is it possible to edit Or create new Fusion 360 models on iPad Pro through safari web browser? (By enabling Request Desktop Website on Safari) With having commercial license/subscription. I checked on website web access is only for education community.

No unfortunately not. Autodesk dropped the web browser design feature. I believe they have got it working on chrome books. Best to post the questions through the autodesk knowledge centre on the Fusion360 forum. 🍻

You should be able to upload it by clicking on the blue upload button. You can upload most native CAD files, if not just upload as a STEP file 👍

my experience is NOT the same as what you're getting. I go through the same motions and do not get the same results. if I keep trying, i can get there. and I thought there were problems with the desktop version.... this is more frustrating. damn thing wont let me select the small face of the knob to draw the circle. no matter what I try. I have the worst luck with software. the only saving grace is that there are others out there experiencing the same thing, but we're a minority. why this crap doesn't work right, IDK. eta: I wanted to try this web based version, so I'm following along stroke for stroke, and on a linux machine, running chrome.

Hi John, I just used the dimension tool and clicked on the two lines that I wanted the angle on. After that I double clicked it and just edited it.

John Galt Hey John, not sure why you’re not getting the same result. I did this on my MacBook via Chrome. I also tried it on my school PC and it worked just fine. The web based version is still in development and not quite there, but give it time. Regards Aaron

just went straight through this again, not a problem. everything worked like it should, for the drawing part. I could not get the feed back button to do anything. go figure. I have rebooted my machine a couple times since I had the problems. Maybe there are a lot of issues when it comes to chrome and/or Linux? I was quite interested to do this on my linux machine, as I do have a dedicated windows 10 machine with F360 on it, but if I can do one-stop shopping, why not? thanks for your contributions to the hobby.
