Note: asking people out upfront isn't being "easy" (provided you ask them out in a genuine way like that guy did). It's attractively vulnerable, and it also conveys the idea that your comfortable doing this, so the girl you ask out isn't going to think you're easy (she might think your a fuckboy which is the opposite problem).

Perception is everything. She didn't not like the dude because he called her every day. She just found that annoying because she didn't like him. If she had liked him she'd be like 'omg he really likes me. he calls me everyday. this is amazing'.

honestly really true. I had the same thing happen to me but at my job, this one really annoying coworker would call me and text me constantly at night, I'd ignore it every time and in the mornings I'd just tell her politely not to call or text unless its really important. But thinking about it if it was a person i had a crush on at work I wouldn't mind at all lol. Sucks to be on the bad end of that stick, but it happens to everyone.

The whole never acknowledging being into someone is a defense mechanism for if they aren’t into you back. No one likes being rejected and not acknowledging you’re into someone is a way to protect yourself against it somewhat.

It's funny how differently I looked at fuslie before, but now finding out she cheated on Edison and is the type to sleep with a married man on top of rejecting nice guys who are supposedly "clingy" says a lot about her. Can't believe I fell for the fake two faced persona. This is why nice guys like Edison can't be happy because of people like you fuslie.

I didn't think guys would ever do the "I wasn't hitting on you" card cause it's rarely brought up. I always thought it was just women who were just being nice but get mistaken as flirtatious.

Nah it’s a thing some guys do when a girl turns them down and they feel embarrassed. I’ve seen it before, like it’s pretty obv they’re into the girl but she isn’t feeling it, but the guy never explicitly says so, just keeps low key flirting with them and giving them a ton of attention, asking them out places etc. When the girl finally says “hey sorry I’m just not into you like that” the guy will say “huh? What made u think that, I was just trying to be FRIENDLY.” This tended to happen the most back in middle/high school bc guys are the most sensitive to rejection at that age; u don’t want ppl in school to hear u got shot down, at least some guys don’t. At a certain point u grow out of this childish behavior, if a girl isn’t into you and u were clearly into them that’s fine, just be on ur way. But yeah, her story was back from middle school so makes a TON of sense.

Mini-rant: I really sympathize with leslie about finding this behavior annoying- sometimes the other party gets too clingy, too flirty, too fast and feels way too overbearing. And then when they say, “Oh but I wasn’t into you…” then don’t flirt at and cling onto me 24/7!!!!

LOLLL why is that so relatable lolll it's kinda boring when they say they like you first bc I personally would think they capping loll so it is more fun to figure out if they are into you rather knowing off the bat haha.

So.. Hates that guys aren't upfront about liking someone, but at the same time wants guys not to tell because that's too easy / not letting her figure it out..? This dating thing is harder than calculus...

No it pretty simple. People find excuses on why something happen. She wasnt into him so she find him calling her annoying. If she was into him she would find it romantic. If a girl or guy doesnt like u, very little u could do to convince them other wise unless u save their life or something. Best to just move on if u find urself in that situation.
@sophietjexd2 жыл бұрын
Speaking from experience, it's about timing. Being upfront is great, but not too early. A guy told me he liked me after TWO conversations. Having the pressure of trying to like someone back that quickly is very awkward. Forcing something often does the opposite. The thing with having a crush is that only when you have one is it great to have it reciprocated. It's actually also why the friendzone is not a bad thing. When someone admits their feelings too early, they will probably be rejected, but the longer you know someone and the less you feel obligated to like someone, the higher the chances that someone can develop feelings. Basically: give people time.
