Hopefully Janet complains about American Airlines, she could get a lot of compensation. I’ve had many many problems with American, i had my flight delayed twice then cancelled then told that my luggage was sent to the destination which was super weird because why would you send a plane with just luggages no passengers then stupid customer service didn’t have the right info so the wasted my time and then an hour later they brought it to the baggage claim

Fat chance of compensation. By the book it was technically her fault. As soon as they find out she went to the toilet right before (more like while the boarding call was happening) boarding, its over.

@@adamsmith3916 WHAT? Is that an improvement from half a year ago? Cause Jetblue is WORSE than spirit and frontier since pandemic. Like in the actual polls. They were cancelling 2/3rds of their flights. Which saddens me cause prepandemic my sister always used jetblue.

This happened to me .. They told me flight is full and then me cussing the airline out for not letting me in.. told me to go back home .. Right when I left past security checkpoint .. they announce “Mr Michael Last call “ the plane is about to leave “.. Running back 20mph on the other side of the gates.. Just to have the gate close right in front of the my face and seeing the plane pull out .. that was my worst flight experience ever lol ..

she's 7/9 and she go to bathroom and when she came out it 8/9 meaning she already miss it her group already boarded the plane.🤔 I get her side but Alot of airlines don't give a sh*t if you miss the fight cause it's your responsibility to be there in the first place. going to the bathroom 10 to 5 min before boarding is a big no no.🤭

I think bc like in some airlines they'll call the last groups first, like start at 9 and go down to 1, bc like they might be the groups all the way in the back

Yeah but usually they would still ask for last calls to board the plane. Even if it’s her responsibility, it’s also the company’s responsibility to have every passenger on board.

@@Emma_R44 The one caveat would be every *present* passenger to board. They can't wait around to see if someone who decided to skip the flight will show up. In fact, to maximize revenue airlines often over-sell flights because a few people generally won't show up (and when they do they offer increasing payouts for people willing to skip the flight).

@@HappyBeeGaming Yo, if they have a boarding pass, which the plane has record of (which she has). They know already if there is passengers that has not yet boarded. Thats how they know the NAMES of who is missing in the flight in the first place for last call. Yes, they can wait a minute to let her in. They didnt wait 0 seconds.

Damn sucks for Janet but she doesn't have enough experience flying. You should attempt to board as long as the first class, business class, military, yada yada have boarded. They generally don't care about the economy class passengers. Also 8/9 would indicate near to last group. Janet is too polite a person...

she said shes group 7, so when she sees 7/9 is when shes supposed to board. 8/9 means group 8 goes to board so she had already missed boarding. honestly she really messed up by not going up and asking and i get she didn’t wanna look like that “asshole” but you really can’t do that kinda stuff when it come to things like that

8/9 means the 8th group called out of 9. She just missed her group while in the bathroom but they obviously don't check to see if everyones on board and do last min calls before take off. 🤦‍♂️

@@awesamlol1 actually yes that you mentioned it I've been on a few airlines that did the same thing having 2 groups go in. But then I've never been in an airline that never says last calls before take off.

@@awesamlol1 Although that is a good assumption, i have taken American airlines countless times in my life, 8/9 indeed does mean 8th group board out of nine. Although i will say its wierd they didn’t do any last calls

@@robertct06 you realize that there is record of buying the ticket, checking in, getting the boarding pass, and actually getting through the gate right? All those has names attached. they absolutely know every single name that is supposed to be in a flight. We're in big trouble if they dont.

I'm gonna be a bit negative but did the friend group she was with atleast texted her before boarding lol. I mean people usually only off their phones the minute before the plane takes off unless janet off her phone first.

I understand what she come from. But remember they dont care if you miss your flight. As much i do this for my job. I will help if they need help. Yet if you dont be in line 10 mins before your flight leave. Im sorry you miss your flight. We followed rules of flight not people.

First of all, yes the airline messed up and I feel for Janet, but I can't help remembering one of the more aggressive "ok boomer" Tic Tocs by a girl at the airport sitting at her gate with captions mocking all of the boomers who showed up super early and who were all standing before boarding even started. One or two bad experiences will change your mentality. On a separate, but related note, I'm reminded of the old saying, "the squeaky weal gets the grease." If you put up a big stink, they would probably do more to help. Sometimes people get straight up cheated, because they don't want to be seen as a Karen. As for the guy at the gate, he really messed up. It's fine for a customer to feel a little awkward about coming up and asking a question, but this is his job, if you seem confused he should have said something and when he immediately redirected you to customer service, I would have gone to customer service, with his name, and explained what happened in detail. I also would insist of a refund (maybe not if you didn't pay for the flight yourself) not a credit or reschedule. I would also leave a bad review on the site emphasizing that every thing except for this issue at the gate was great, maybe even complimenting the customer service desk employees to highlight the issue with this one guy. Few things make me angry enough to go to these lengths, but that sort of crap might do it. Obviously if taking the next available flight would work for you then maybe I'd go a little easier at the customer service desk and save the venom for an online review.

He's supposed to look at the group of people standing by the gate for the next flight and figure out if some of them "seem confused", then go up and talk to them because they might feel awkward about asking questions? Yeah, right. And it's *wheel, btw, what is a "weal"?
