The Futurama writers take math very seriously.

They just didn’t take into account banking regulations changing and accounts going dormant and the funds going to the state until it’s claimed by the owner. But it doesn’t just continue to accrue interest after the account goes dormant and is closed. Great math though

These episodes have so many jokes that are so smart that it's often hard to absorb them all on the first pass. I particularly like "You can't just sit in the dark listening to classical music!" "I could, until you turned-on the lights and turned-off the stereo".

Glad to see you're enjoying Futurama! Just a heads up Season 1 has 13 episodes instead of the 9 that the streaming services show. That's because they were broadcast by Fox back then, where they seemingly decided when the seasons ended. The production order is the one you should go by, as it's the order the writers wanted people to watch the show. You can see it on the 'list of Futurama episodes' Wikipedia page. Either way Futurama just keeps getting better and better so hopefully you continue into the next few seasons! Much love! 😁

Real nice guy, too! Got to meet him at a con once. He was asked if he ever had jokes that he didn't understand in the VO booth but got when he saw the episode, and I guess the one where Fry says "No, I'm... didn't!" (can't recall the exact episode, not sure we're there yet) completely baffled him until he got to see it in-context. Must be weird trying to perform a line when you're not sure what it's supposed to convey, but, in that case, West's confusion helped amplify Fry's apparent confusion, so it worked-out well.

i did the maths, and it's actuallly 4,283 million, not 4,300 like the bank teller says. and yes i'm using thousands of million explicitly because in the civilized world a billion is a million million.
