The origin of the “Not Sure If” meme! Glad you got the right thumbnail
@riffler24 Жыл бұрын
My favorite aspect of the "Past-o-rama" scene is the inaccuracies, because it's exactly what we do now, through the process of compression. It's hard for humans to comprehend time more than a human lifetime, so it starts to become easy to compress a whole decade or century or whatever into a single "block" of events. Look at how we treat ancient empires. Egypt spanned like a thousand years, but for the most part we split it into three eras. Even within an era it could be centuries, imagine trying to sum up the entirety of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries as one "era" when SO MANY THINGS happened. You would have a very hard time understanding that, since simple decades can separate things, but if you look from the scale of a century or millenia, events that were 2 or 3 decades apart will seem like they happened at essentially the same time

You know what? Props to Zapp. He could've gotten away with letting Leela keep the atom, but he took his job seriously.

I think he always takes his job seriously. It’s just that his standards of “serious” are so low that even a gold medalist in Olympic limboing couldn’t get under them.

It is disturbing to watch these guys who think a show spoofing what people did and how things were over 30 years ago is about their "today" in any way. The poor purely voyeuristic Eloi don't even realize that human development ceased and is now regressing. Fewer and fewer people can even screw in a light bulb now. Stop and cry for the future.
