To be fair, voice was giveaway. And not because the same voice actor! Voice actors here a good enough to play different characters and be distinct enough. For Lars, the actor played intentionally similarly to Fry!

In brazilian portuguese Lars had a completely different voice than Fry, based on that it would be impossible to guess. I like it better how they did in english.

What I see as THE Futurama movie! It’s got stakes, drama, action, Easter eggs and a great twist. It’s also my favourite piece of Futurama media ever produced! Great reaction as always, I can’t wait to see the rest of the films. 👏

The one Futurama movie that's better than The Simpsons Movie, and distinctly and clearly so - It would be perfect as a feature film for the series. It's actually hard to imagine anything better, really. The other movies, as perfectly serviceable and enjoyable as they are, also ultimately feel anti-climatic after this one. However, I'm grateful this one came first, as it would've felt fairly exhausting dealing with yet another movie after three of them, and it wouldn't allow time for digestion regarding this masterful one, with its wonderfully complex, twisty, sharp, and dynamic plot.

My favourite part of this movie is the happy life they gave Seymour :) Still can't watch Jurassic Bark. I never realised all the times the paradox tried to fix itself, I just thought they were done for comic or romantic effect. I never put together who Lars was until the reveal, I was shocked when it happened and shocked watching this and you guessed it.

For context for the beginning of the movie, Futurama and FOX had a rather strained relationship to say the least. Futurama was constantly being meddled with (leading to Groening having to basically constantly fight on Futurama's behalf since he had a load of clout from The Simpsons) and they were always switching nights and time slots to the point where not even die hard Futurama fans knew when it was airing. The relationship got so bad that FOX never even officially cancelled Futurama they just never called them to pick up another season which lead to the open ended nature of "The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings" where if the series ended there it'd be a satisfying conclusion but they could pick it right back up if Futurama were renewed. In the end, extremely strong DVD sales and numbers on syndication numbers lead to FOX commissioning these movies with the condition that they all be 120 minutes long so they could be split up into four episodes and sold to other networks as an unofficial Season 5.

While I do think Simpsons in its prime is funnier than Futurama. Futurama as a whole show just has some of the best story telling even if its not making you laugh all the time which makes its more interesting than Simpsons.

Imo this is the only truly great movie of the 4. I found the second and third one very forgettable and unnecessary, and the last one was good just for how it tied everything together at the end. The comeback season is very rough tho. We will see what you guys think when u get there tho! I think the general opinions on all the movies are very mixed.

Honestly my big problem with this movie is that it negates so many of the sad moments regarding Fry and his family. Since he got to be with them for longer it loses all the tragedy.

tbh it gets confusing with the time line stuff and which frys are which but i just remind myself that it's not the same fry we see at the end of the movie, if that makes sense. the current fry doesn't have that experience.
